  1. A great addition to the game and it's story would be an ability to start as a scav instead of an PMC. Right now we can only truly play and progress as a PMC, with traders, quests and stash. Playing as a scav has no means of real progression and is just an extra. But what if... Start as a scav. You get some starting gear, some makarovs your dad kept and a trusty mosin your grandfather fought off nazis with. Lots of tushonka, cigs etc, as other scavs like them. In fact, there are some that will even buy them from you in exchange for some ammo. You heard there are some nice shops in old customs area. You go and venture out there but very soon your friend Dimitri stops you and tells you only scavs that belong to Rashala's group can loot the area AND on top of that recently some ex-PMCs got interested in construction site. But if you want, Dimitrii can get you ticket inside the faction as long as you do couple errands for Dima, local chad. Overall you can play with different factions, make some choices on who to help, meet different bosses and do lots of fun quests while doing slav things. And you get to kill some amerikans. With time you gain recognition, find better guns, customize your looks and gain access to better areas, like gas station which customs Boss, Rashala, occupies. If you betray your faction they will attack you, in the beginning rather hesitantly but over time you can start entire wars by bringing up to 4 friends from another faction. Your stash will be small and you'll have to think of what to keep. Money will be used to buy off bounties on your head if you anger certain groups and buy better weaponry. This will be the ultimate Tarkov experience.

    Shotgun Sniper Scavs Return!

So, the phenomenon is back. Ive had multiple shotgun scavs shoot me and hitting with a ridiculous accuracy although theyre multiple hundred meters away. Lately scavs has also got insane aim at you. When i lay down and a scav is about 100 meters away they will somehow still hit me with a 100% accuracy. This is completely broken. Something has to happen. Its in all honesty game ruining.
  3. I have about 70 hours of game time and am level 32 currently. I tend to play the game with bare-bones load outs going in with pistols or low-tier weapons and building up through the raid. I think the 45 round 1x3 ak mags that you often find in the game map would be must more useful and worth picking up if there was a lower-tier chest rig capable of reloading a set of them. I think if there was something like a long scav vest with a pocket layout like 1x1,1x3,1x3.1x1. If a vest like this was somewhat available to be looted off scavs/in the marketplace you would see players more interested in trying various 1x3 mags in their load-outs before they have access buying the ANA chest rig, the only rig you can use effectively with 1x3 mags. Even though I have access to this rig now I have never used the 45 ak mags as access to 60rnd mags with better rigs outclasses them. I have used the ANA with the Saiga 10rnd mags a few times but I found the upgrade to the Saiga generally not be worth the investment of the Ana rig. I enjoy the way playing as a scav works right now, but I think even greater randomness in terms of what load-outs and attachments your weapons have/don't have would make scav runs even better. Such as weapons occasionally spawning with less used or uncommon optics or attachments to give players game play options they might not have considered. I would also like to say I am enjoying the addition of the Mosin very much, keep up the good work!
  4. Would it be possible to make the scav groups larger in size and increase the patrol range and randomize the spawn locations? I think this should be utilized mostly on night runs. It would be great to run into random groups at night in places you wouldn't normally expect to see them!
  5. Am i the only one who finds these completely useless? you couldn't kill a mouse with this amount of ammunition in a magazine let alone any player whether they are armored or not. I think if you are going to give a scav an AK or anything they need to have the big 30 round magazines. Atleast one and then the rest are 10 round magazines, but to have every single one be only 10 rounds is a hassle and trying to get gear is just impossible with only 10 rounds. What are your thoughts? let me know in the comments below

    What's He saying

When I get spotted by a scav They tend to shout the same thing before i melt them or get one tapped, I apologise in advance if it's explicit, I've looked at some threads with listed sayings that scavs have but Can't find this particular one. It's when they say something like this "Vonansuka!" or "Vonan Cyka!" i do know what"Cyka" means but not the other word(s). Any one know what they are saying?
  7. I came across an interesting idea and hope it finds some fans out there. The idea is a sort of SCAV REPUTATION SYSTEM. Currently most Player Scavs kills other Scavs to get gear and when you kill the rogue player scav you get punished, because the scavs get aggressive against you. There could be a persistent scav reputation to get rid of this. + more fun playing as scav + more teaming as scav + more scavs against players Point System: - when you kill a scav or player scav your get minus - 0.10 rep - when you kill a rogue player scav (rep below 0) you gain + 0.10 rep and other scavs dont get aggressive against you - when you kill a usec or bear you gain + 0.20 rep Benefits: Based on different REP levels < 0.00 REP = you spawn with a red mask, so other people and scavs see that you are shooting scavs and gone rogue, you're the bounty to hunt now 0 - 5 REP = you spawn as usual like now with random low-middle tier gear > 5 REP = you have the chance to spawn with better scav gear and also wear a green mask, so other scavs see that you are friendly, as long as you're above 5 rep This idea does include a sort of bounty hunting for rogue scavs and would give a better team experience, scavs vs. usec/bears

Scav trophy and toz mini replica

Hello beautiful city of Tarkov! Scavs are roaming the cold streets, let them in your home to get some warmth. Preferably in your trophy room. Just above your cute mini toz-106 replica. You could say I got really bored during summer brake. I used some basic modelling skills and a 3D printer to make that. If you want to see more pictures and/or new projects I'm on facebook at /ReDHordeStudio

    Missing in Action Bug

Hello, so I was playing a customs run as a scav and managed to get some sweet loot, I often wait a but until things quiet down in customs and the mostly geared players exit, so it was just me and a few other players/scavs. Ok back on topic, I was leaving and there was still time left on the clock, but I got "Missing in Action" and all my good loot vanished :C I had a fort ;u; Is this common? Adding that this also happened to me a few weeks ago with two other friends as PMC's, lost everything too.

Player Scav killing Player Scav fix

So you spawn in as a scav and after about 10 seconds you die because another player scav shot you in the back. Everyone hates this and it's completely unfair. So an easy fix i think if you go into a raid don't loot anything or shoot. if your killed by another player scav which hasn't been aggressive around you then you simply get your scav option back without the cooldown. What do you guys think?

    The Ultimate SCAV experience

so player can as usual choose as SCAV but with one big difference, player doesn't need to control same SCAV until it dies, he can just switch between any SCAV on the map, take control it and play, and if he dies he can just switch again to another SCAV, that would make SCAV gameplay longer and more intertaining, because AI SCAVs can be boring but player controlled SCAV can be much more challenging, so that normal players would never know whether that SCAV is AI, or it was AI minute ago and now its another player, or it was a player but now its AI, so that would make it more intimidating and more intertaining also, even more, when PMC player is killed he can choose to quit as usual or to continue playing taking over one of remaining SCAVs there could even be a "free to play" version of the game where you can only connect and play as a SCAV, without any loot or stash, just roaming around the map, but because its "free" that would stimulate more people play as SCAVs and that in turn will make the game world more action packed, no need to write complicated AI for SCAVs just make use of hordes of random people playing "free" version and success is inevitable

    Scav survival ranking

Hi, I don't know if this has been previously suggested but here's what I'm thinking: Each time you survive and extract as a scav you get upgraded gears for your next scav run, for example you start with a pistol if you survive and extract your next scav run you will get a shotgun then the next one some armor of course you have to survive and extract successively if you fail to extract as a scav your gear level gets reset to lvl 1 (Pistol only). If you manage to survive and extract as a scav 10-15 times in a row for example you get to be the scav boss (or guard) and of course have some kind of mission so players don't just rush the extraction for the gear you have as a scav boss.

    Death by AI Scav

Noob here, 2 days in. Im enjoying the game immensely but I have a question. It is my understanding that if youre on a scav run ( Im sprinting to Dorms to find the Factory key) and you dont attack other scavs, they wont attack you. I was just shot in the face at point blank by an Ai scav after having never fired a shot. Are there any other criteria that cause an Ai scav to attack you?
--------------------------------------------------------------- It is a problem that occurs when playing as Scav, not PMC. Scav starts with a friendly relationship, but when I attack AI Scav in the surroundings judges me as an enemy. Even if you hide and kill you will become an enemy. Here is the doubt. · How far AI Scav in the game judges me as an enemy? · Is player Scav the same result? · How about Boss's Scav? Please tell me if you have similar topics.
  16. Can we expect the scavs to get an IQ increase that'll reach the double digits, where they realize "Hey, this guy just domed the scav that was shooting at us, maybe he's on our side" instead of "Wow, that douchebag just killed 5 of our friends, but this guy who killed him is clearly an enemy as well." Cause right now, if some scav player shoots at you and you kill him in return fire, the other scavs become hostile. What're you supposed to do, roll over and take his big meaty scav shotty? Super frustrating poo right there fam.

    Ninja / Ghost Scav

A bunch of suggestions for development

Just a bunch of things that I highly recommend for the game's longterm development to improve gameplay and to fix clearly broken things in the game. ALot of this has probably been mentioned before me but I wanted to compile everything on my mind into one large post. Some of it may not necessarily be viable in the current build, I have no access to the code or the knowledge of how skilled the dev coding team is, but these are things I know exist in other games, including at least one game on the unity engine that I know about. Many of the things that I mention shouldn't be difficult to do, such as everything I mention about scavs. This kind of stuff is all based on other games who's AI is leagues above what I see in tarkov in it's current state. - Add a "TRAITOR" penalty for SCAVs that kill other SCAVs. The penalty is simple, if you kill 1 scav your cooldown for scav is 150% of normal (30mins instead of 20mins) and if you kill more than one scav it is 200% (40mins) This only applies if you kill scavs as a scav, and then manage to escape. It'll represent your scav having to escape and you need to now hire a new scav to go do runs for you because the old scav will never be able to go back without all scavs being hostile to him. - TRAITOR penalty in addition to penalizing cooldown time also changes your status from SCAV to PMC, meaning if another player scav kills you, he doesn't get scavs to aggro on him. Currently if a player scav gets attacked by another player scav, and he kills him in self defense, he will still get all other scavs to aggro on him regardless. Makes no sense, especially if the scavs are already aggressive towards the TRAITOR scav. - Add proper scav leveling, scav has better skills or gear because of exp gained. (No current noticeable reason for scavs to earn exp?? ? ) or transfer earned exp to player ? - Add the ability to give your scav items from stash, risky but realistic, if he works for you, you should be able to give him stuff. Perhaps limit it to low level items (Shotguns, PACA armor, etc.) - Change the gear and overall skill level of AI scavs to better represent their appearance. Fully kitted scav with body armor, backpack, chest rig and SKS should be more accurate than the light kit scav with only a pistol. - Make scavs aim only at chest, no more randomly blowing out your legs or instant headshots from long ranges. This is realistic, nobody trains IRL to cap headshots like people do in video games. In real life anyone who trains with a gun of any type other than maybe a sniper rifle will train to shoot center mass (chest.) - Lower scav accuracy at long ranges (50m+) all across the board. These guys are CIVILIANS, not PMCs or SOLDIERS so they should not be terminators ever, even if they are skilled. Right now I still encounter scavs that have accuracy FAR BETTER than players in the game, meaning the AI accuracy level has been coded to be better than a player. the only players I have seen replicate such impossible aim and spotting skills has been hackers using ESP/aimbot to spot your prone, unmoving body through trees and foliage to headshot you with a pistol from 100+ meters. - Buff helmets across the board. Seriously, people wear helmets for a reason IRL, they aren't made of tin foil. Your helmets are tin foil, that maybe magically stop a gun once in a blue moon. - Make the face hitbox the same size as your face, sections of helmets are useless due to face hitbox being too big. - Change scav coding so that scavs either A. are limited to the amount of ammo (number of bullets) in their inventory. Or B. Use the actual weapon in their inventory. Currently scav AI is clearly coded to use an AI weapon rather than the weapon they are holding. This may be what is also causing the accuracy problem as their guns seem to have zero recoil when scavs use them. This also means that scavs will run out of ammo instead of being able to fire their gun forever. - Add scavs yelling about being out of ammo, have them run away or switch to knife and charge the PMCs. - Add melee scavs (Civilians with bats/etc who couldn't get a gun.) Because I know that guns in russia are not as common as in the US so many scavs would not have ready access to Saiga-12s. - Add more dangerous scavs in specific areas of maps (such as a military checkpoint) that have military grade equipment from looting military areas. - Set scav spawning to specific waves, no more infinite scav spawning. (Factory for example has infinite scav spawns.) - Increase numbers of scav spawns on certain maps (Interchange is sometimes devoid of scavs. I've done runs through the entire mall and only found maybe 3 scavs.) - NERF FORT ARMOR BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH ARMOR THAT IS THAT STRONG - Increase price on armor piercing rounds due to a very clear reason why people would want that. Simple capitalism at work. The traders are running a business to profit. AP ammo of any kind (other than useless pistol ammo, looking at you makarov) should be more expensive accordingly. PMCs are going to want armor piercing ammo a TON to fight other PMCs so it's in high demand and very hard to get ahold of due to that high demand. - Create an in game economy. Currently already can be seen with Fence except fence is just where everyone sells their junk basically. Make trader inventory to sell limited, meaning that all items now have a greater value and MUCH greater value to lose. Will force people to not act stupid in the game anymore, and will make SURVIVAL more important in the game. After a certain point in the game currently you kinda lose the "gear fear" and stop trying to conserve anything because you can replace it from the traders instantly and just roll out again in seconds. Good number of people are now playing the game like it's call of duty instead of like it's EFT because dying and losing all your gear means nothing when you can just replace it easy. Can't replace it if the trader runs out of stock. Traders currently have infinite stock of everything because they somehow have infinite money and their own private weapons factory where they manufacture all the guns they sell to you. - In game economy also encourages everyone to sell to traders a bunch, to replenish items. Items in high demand cost alot to buy and should also earn you alot of $$$. This would add a new element to "Gear runs" in the game. Going in, grabbing up a bunch of gear in high demand, escaping, and selling it to rake in that dough that you'd then need to get gear. - Modify and add quests that aren't the most generic RPG quests I've ever seen, please. (Go get this item, kill 10 of these guys, etc) Either that or just remove it completely and in addition to the in game economy in the game, have "IN DEMAND" quests that happen when a trader comes low on stock. These quests could offer bonus rewards for bringing the trader new stock, such as money and items for your character. - Add additional things to do in the game to increase options and replayability. The repetition in the game is going to make people leave if there's nothing to do, and alot of end game people have nothing to do but make up their own challenges and do PvP. - PvE gamemode with some kind of penalty (50-25% exp for example.) - Add penalty for killing PMCs of the same team as you (TRAITOR cooldown equivalent for PMCs.) such as some traders hating you because you killed fellow PMCs of your own group. - Add a method of taking all those computer parts you can get (CPU, RAM, etc) and combining them to make your own computer. Using the computer you could then gain access to specific traders that you CLEARLY could not access otherwise (such as Mechanic who only buys with digital currency [bitcoin] on high items) and possibly add other things for the computer to offer. - Add user generated tasks for people to complete. You can complete them using the computer and this will add more replayability to the game (Example: I need a suppressor for my AKM, will pay 25k roubles.) Once you have the item/s that the player wants, you can HANDOVER the items for the mentioned reward, provided your scav is alive to transport them for you. - Add an ability to hire people to support your missions, such as additional scavs, delivery men, etc to offer bonuses. Trainers could for example make your scavs better skilled so they will do better in a raid. - Add better descriptions and effects for all skills across the board. Currently with the exception of strength and endurance there is not any particularly noticeable differences in leveling in the game with any other skills. As of currently, the RPG elements in the game are 100% useless, and nobody seeks to level anything other than the aforementioned str and end skills. - Add the ability to only squad with people from the same PMC as you in a new "operation" mode. - Remove the time limit that makes no sense to be in the game. Unrealistic, your character doesn't "go missing" or "die" in real life because you were inside a factory for more than 30 minutes. - Prevent scavs from seeing through objects and being able to see perfectly at night. Scavs should be virtually blind at night when not looking at something with a flashlight. - Modify all quests that can currently be completed by literally just buying the items from another trader. Defeats purpose of the mission entirely. - Remove dumb quests (go look at water in this one room on dorms to get instant moneys) - Add a bounty system to allow players to hunt down notorious bad players, this can help combat griefing, hacking, etc in game, as well as offering significant rewards for trying to fight high level players. - Add a less serious mode like old school contract wars, will allow respawns with your gear in raid, but you cannot loot bodies, gain exp, or escape with items. - add the ability to have assets from your respective PMC deployed to help you (AI PMCs? Mortars? etc) - Change the traders system so that selling items to them no longer ranks up the "spending" tiers for leveling the trader up. Currently unsure if an exploit in the game's design or if it was deliberately made like that. Makes leveling the peacekeeper trader easy and extremely lucrative (you have thousands of dollars to spend at tier 2 peacekeeper. - Change the AVS chest rig to a plate carrier/rig hybrid in the update where you add the armor plates. It is now capable of being inserted with armor plates and can offer armor protection. The IRL rig is a plate carrier not a rig. Make it so that only soft armor can be worn beneath the rig (PACA) due to large armor like UNTAR and FORT not being able to fit. - Add pouches that can be placed on body armor that has MOLLE weaves, as visible on FORT and UNTAR - Add american grenades (M86) - 1911 or other form of .45 pistol please. please. - reduce price of all SMGs to %50-75 of current price to increase their viability. Serves no point to roll with a MP5 if you can roll with a vepr that does more damage, more range, more AP damage, etc. - add story/lore based missions that are faction specific. USEC still needs to destroy evidence and help protect terragroup stuff. BEAR still needs to gain intel on terragroup. Might be a survival game, but the survival element is gone for alot of players already when they are going in over and over again for missions. - Make your stash an actual location that you can visit. - Make traders an actual visit-able location if they are in tarkov, if not, the aforementioned computer should be needed to have access to them. Traders on site can have a shooting range that'll allow you to practice or test weapons before you buy it. - Add a way of playing offline that's separate from the online multiplayer mode. Be it a singleplayer story or just having a separate singleplayer stash for playing singleplayer, it'll offer more for practicing.

    Scav ideas

As an Escaper of Tarkov I think scavs need to have movement around the map. I think right now the raids lack one thing PMC's staying in lobby as long as possible for good loot. I understand that you kill a looted guy and you want the gear or you are a hachtling trying to make quick money. However, there are times when I scav into a raid and most PMC's, if not all have extracted already. There are also times I do not see any PMC's and would just like to brawl something other than the usual scavs. I believe Tarkov could solve this issue by implementing an idea I have. I think around mid raid the server should spawn in two Hostile groups of scavs that do not like each other and battle it out for a "scav stash" or some rare item in the raid. They would meet and have a full battle I would suggest a 3 scavs against another 3 scav group. However, if you are a player scav, the scavs are hostile and will kill anything so player scavs might have to avoid the conflict. What are the positives of this change/ idea: 1) it adds more chaos to the raids. 2) more rare loot in raids. 3) Incentives for PMC's to stick around longer to try and fight remaining scavs or all the scavs for the loot. The negatives are : 1) Taking on the scavs as a solo player is tough (However, allows you to better yourself as a player). 2) Sometimes the loot could be mid level gear so sometimes not worth the risk. 3) Could get ambushed by other PMC's I believe this could add some really cool battle with scavs and PMC's (and possilbe player scavs fighting scavs). It would give players who haven't seen any other PMC's to obtain good loot and a chance to use their gear. There are both good and bad incentives which I believe makes it balanced. Let me know what you guys think about the topic!

    Scav evaluation (POLL)

Thought I'd throw this up so we can get a good perception of how the community feels about the current scav AI. As a guy that plays a lot and is on the fence about this one, I'd like to know how others feel about it.

    Scav Elite

i think Scav should have Scav Elite(that can be AI or very lucky player) like some dude who survive a lot and got very good equipment-armour plus have elite skill-more hp and be scav ai leader (can place beacon to be spawn point and call in scav to his location) if he get killed scav reinforcement will stop spawn (except those already in the area) *** give some high lvl+equip player some good ai to fight with
