    Brand new player - weapon choice

    As a lvl 2 PMC (my first wipe) I need advice. I don't have access to the flea market yet and here are my weapon options: 1. Mosin(infantry, 34000₽) 2. SKS(23000₽) 3. PP-91 Kedr(20700₽) Which one is currently the strongest option? Mosin fits my play style the most. I like shooting hard hitting, slow ROF weapons at distance and I have shitty armour so I play carefully and avoid CQB. I read posts from 2019 in which people were complaining that Mosin can one shot 4 tier armour by hitting in the chest with LPS GHZ round so devs nerfed it. Is weapon(ammo) still good after nerfs (can I oneshot anything under 4 tier armour with LPS) or is it garbage now, and I should choose SKS instead? Are there any good and cheap guns after I unlock flea market. I heard good opinions about verp hunter, what do you guys think?

    Mosin should only hold 4+1 bullets

    In game, the mosin nagant can hold 5 rounds if the magazine is removed in the stashe and loaded, plus a 6th round in the chamber. IRL, the mosin holds 4 rounds in the magazine plus a 5th in the chamber. (The magazine can hold 5 rounds but the bolt would not close). BSG please fix

    BRITISH FACTION AND WEAPONS

    I think it would be really interesting to have a British SAS Faction, I'm sure someone from every country has made a post like this, but being in the British army myself, I can tell you now the L Style weaponry is really interesting, and SAS and Police forces use the MP5 models which are already in game, but models like the L85 and L115A are really interesting weapons, I think implementing guns like the Glock 17 would be a good popular choice. Just another idea in the hat.

    I'm a firm believer that this game will only be improved upon by adding the Hi point c9 Yeet cannon into the game, let's pull together as a community and bring this to the attention of the developers. with enough support we can get a truly re-memorable weapon into one of my favorite games, so i'm starting the campaign "Bring the Yeet to tarkov" now go gamers and spread the good word!!

    Makeshift Weapons

    So, When I was playing this last weak, I finally noticed that weapons had durability and I began thinking about how the mechanics for that could be used and came up with an idea for improvised weapons that can be made in the hideout. Russia and eastern-European countries have had a long history of producing weapons from a disadvantage and turning them into staples of war, from Molotovs to magnet-mines. Some examples would be slam-fired shotguns, Molotovs, etc. The main thought I had was an article of a Russian sniper who built and used a rifle made entirely of pipe material. It was a Single-Fire bolt action that was able to be rechambered and doubled as an anti-materiel rifle. Below is a rough ideation of what I was talking about.

    Making scavs less robotic/lowering weapons

    When scavs are not in combat they just stand around pointing their guns at echother. It makes the feel robotic because holding a rilfe upp for extanded periods of time is tiring. So what im suggesting is to make scavs and player the ability to lower their gun. Benefits for the player. It could make so stamina regens a bit faster. Potential key bind Ctrl x2 The pictures are exaples from Arma 3 of bots with their guns lowered.

  8. Sorry I’m on a mobile device so difficult to search the forums with my fat fingers! Has anyone else noticed a lack of weapons being returned from insurance the last few weeks? I am throwing my mates weapons into really obscure places so no one finds them and the insurance brings them back, and yet they never seem to return. Everything else does. Only time they do seem to return is if I throw them into water where the player can’t go. Just curious. Ta V

    Handheld flashlight /w pistols

    Good day all, As much as I love the under-barrel flashlights for the pistols, I think it would also be good if players were able to operate a handheld flashlight with pistols, the idea I have would be a handheld flashlight, sold by mechanic and peacekeeper for around 1500R or 150$ which would allow the player to operate a flashlight without having to use a pistol such as the glock or the TT pistol, I think it would add another later of immersion to the game.

    So I was looking into different types of 9mm and I found these AP rounds that appear to work similar to 5.7 rounds (as in they go right through armour) is there any chance well see something like this added to make pistols a little more viable late game?

Ive been thinking, considering that Terra Group was based in the UK and that USEC (United Security) is a proxy militia of Terra group, it would make sense that British operatives would be in USEC. Hence why i think that it would make perfect sense lore wise to introduce British weaponary. such as: L85A2, L85A3, not the A1 cause its trash, L96a1, LSW Ect. it might also make for some good voice acting, im thinking like cpt macmillan sort of stuff. Another reason that older british weapons could be included in the game is that guns like the SMLE MKIII found themselves in Afghanistan after ww2 and so might likely end up in Russia idk. please let me know what you guys think.

    Hello, this is a fairly simple and small idea, but I was just thinking when modding my weapons that it is quite hard, especially for newer players to search into the flee market for weapon attachments because of the long names most modifications have. So as a possible idea, I thought that being able to search abreviations as listed on the image of the attachments and items would be easier. For a quick example, the 'Badger Ordnance Tactical Charging Handle Latch' which, rather than typing that in we could type in BOTL.

    Optics and PEQ15s

    I noticed the Elcan specter dr and all IR lasers and IR lights are not functioning true to real life counter parts. I have used real PEQ15s and I own an Elcan specter dr 1-4x optic. So I'm speaking from experience when I say this. The Elcan has an eye relief of 70mm (having perfect eye relief means you will not see a black rings on the inside of the optic) the HAMR has an eye relief of 69mm. this means I can move my head further away from an Elcan and still have perfect eye relief. So why is it that when using the Elcan scope a black ring appears inside on the edges but the HAMR does not? This is either one of two things. One my highly trained paramilitary operator doesn't know how to properly use a scope or two you guys may has fumbled. Currently the Elcan is completely over priced and inferior to the HAMR optic. As the HAMR is crystal clear while the Elcan is murky. The Elcan today is praised for having the best and clearest glass on an optic money can buy. IR lasers and lights do not appear in night vision properly at all. Instead I can visually see my IR laser and light during the day with my naked eye currently in game. It is impossible to see IR anything with the naked eye so why can I in this game? The IR laser should have an extremely bright beam while viewed with night vision but doesn't. Now the IR light should only be visible in night vision. But should work in areas night vision doesn't have enough ambient light to magnify so the operator can still see in the dark. Will either of these two oversights be corrected?

    Weapon Paint - Camouflage

    Hello, I am here to suggest weapon camouflage in the form of paint. No stupid bright pinks or oranges, earth colours that make sense and help to conceal you. I had three ideas of how it could be implemented. The first is going to mechanic and he has a tab where you put your gun/attachments in and select the style of camouflage desired and purchase it, and depending on the weapon and attachments the price will go up or down. The second is you buy the spray cans from mechanic and there is an option when you right click on the gun or inspect it that is "Camouflage" and you get to select which which pattern you like, or once the hideout is finished you can take it to a work bench and select the paints with the provided spray cans for desired camouflages. The third idea is that you have both of these implemented BUT paying mechanic gives you more camouflage options, and even have different traders offer different camouflages.     Auto-mod weapons profiles

    Hello Developers and community. I have a suggestion, intended to make, dying and gearing back up, a bit easier. I couldn't find any other topic regarding this as I did a search. Consider this, a one-click, buy all mods and attach them, button for weapons or helmets or anything else that requires/allows some type of modding to it. It would work something like this: The simple version: You have a maximum of, let's say 5 profiles, which you freely could use, change, edit etc. for 5 items (weapons and armor). Each profil you pick the weapon you want to use, the mods you want to have on this weapon etc. and save it. Next time you need this weapon, you just click on a button and the game will automatically buy the weapon and mods (unless you already have it and some of them in your stash, and you of course have unlocked the items or weapons with the traders) and make the weapon ready to use as you wanted it. The advanced version: Same as above, only as a complete loadout. Meaning weapon, armor, tactical rig, medics, ammunition, mags, etc. etc. - On-Click ready to raid button. This will remove some of the time wasted, re-modding a weapon, buying armors, helmets etc. you just lost in the previous raid, which after playing through several wipes and deaths lol can become quite a time consumer. If it's possible, technically in the game? I don't know, I just think it would be a nice way to better the frustration of dying, after you spent some time building your loadout. This is not intended as a removal of the current way of modding your stuff, but just a supplement, for those that already know which loadout they prefer and just want to raid as much as possible. What do you think?

There are rumors floating around about some lads that use to work at some factory district, fenced off, cranking out crude classics for people to kill one another with. Seems even scrap metal can still give the punch it needs in the Motherland. Might want to head over there and give a looksee. Might be a special someone that could get you cheap kits to help ya survive." I introduce you, to a rugged man named The Forge. A metal worker that had a hobby of gunsmithing. With a crew and the right tools first snagged during the whole crazy debacle. Theyve been arming themselves with easily crafted guns of old. From freshly minted TT-33, Mosin rifles to maybe something special along the road like iconic world war 2 smgs and so on. A fun idea none the less with a little role play element to spice the idea up.
  22. A practice map with all the weapons and other equipment on a new map would be awesome. Loading into a firing range with any gun at your disposal would help a lot with practice. Practice shooting moving targets, strafing while shooting, gauging range on a scope, learning a new gun and many more possibilities.

  24. Hello devs, So here are my questions, If you buy a gun from the one of the traders is it possible to put some kind of ID tag on it to show the first person who owned it? Second is are we going to be able to "paint" our weapons? And are weapon malfunctions in the game yet? Thanks, Bret

    What on earth happened!?

    Let me tell you a little story about my last game. I am fairly new to this game, i only played in 0.9, and i only played for ~30 hours so far. I just finished a game of Customs, it was getting dark outside, and i has scrounged through the remains in the dorms, avoiding combat at all costs, since i always seem to lose when engaging/engaged. I found some dead Scav boss guards, killed 2 myself + the scav boss too. And i walked away with a fully functional Kiver M helmet + clean visor and 2 AK-74m's. At this point i am REALLY scared of dying because i never found such good loot before, but i also feel safe behind this dope armor (especially since i facetanked 1 scav guard and came out on top). I end up sneaking as slow as possibly from dorms, all the way to gas station, out of fear of dying to a lurker. My plan is to extract at the ZB1011 bunker, and i hope at this point that someone unlocked the factory door for me, since i don't have the key myself. When i make it to the hill separating dorms and gas station i see someone down at the factory door (it is dark still). When i go there, i don't sneak, i just walk normally (because i feel safe in the armor and with my loadout), i approach the door and doublecheck that the visor is down. When i open the door, i see a backpack disheartening into the room to the left, my heart starts racing! I take aim at the window to my left, knowing he will appear there in a second, I start to shoot, but only get to fired 1-2 full auto bullets before he ONE TAPS ME!? HERE IS MY QUESTION!? How is that possible!? I thought the Kiver with visor on was viable? What weapon + ammo can one tap through a full durability kiver face shield? I was so discouraged after this. I am thinking about quitting the game because of this, before i get desperate and buy the EOD version to get a bigger stash. I want to love this game, and i like that the learning curve is to ruthless, but everyone has told me "once you get over the lower levels, it's gonna be awesome". Well i am lvl 16 now, and i just had a full loadout from 3 scav boss guards, and i got one-tapped in a situation where the person killing me, could not even see the unarmored parts of me because of a window wall. Please forum! let me know how this was possible. I thought he might have hit a blacked arm or something, but the report after the fight said "face", and that really boggles me
