    BRITISH FACTION AND WEAPONS

I think it would be really interesting to have a British SAS Faction, I'm sure someone from every country has made a post like this, but being in the British army myself, I can tell you now the L Style weaponry is really interesting, and SAS and Police forces use the MP5 models which are already in game, but models like the L85 and L115A are really interesting weapons, I think implementing guns like the Glock 17 would be a good popular choice. Just another idea in the hat.

    Tarkov Lore. New NPCS/PCS?

"In Tarkov, one of the largest cities of the region, a transatlantic corporation became the ground zero of a political scandal. Six months later, the political standoff escalated into an armed conflict involving UN peacekeepers, Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and two private military companies. The region's borders were sealed off, and those trapped in the middle of flaring up local warfare were isolated from the outside world." https://escapefromtarkov.gamepedia.com/Tarkov_conflict So it would be cool to see some internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the game. Either as non-playable NPC characters, or some other form. (Maybe like a 2nd Scav option, where theyre available only every few hours or so...just spitballing here). Surely there would have to be some local government group - be it military or police, trying to restore/maintain order. (Not just the U.N.) It Would make the world feel more lively for sure to see them patrolling (in vehicles?), etc.
  3. A great addition to the game and it's story would be an ability to start as a scav instead of an PMC. Right now we can only truly play and progress as a PMC, with traders, quests and stash. Playing as a scav has no means of real progression and is just an extra. But what if... Start as a scav. You get some starting gear, some makarovs your dad kept and a trusty mosin your grandfather fought off nazis with. Lots of tushonka, cigs etc, as other scavs like them. In fact, there are some that will even buy them from you in exchange for some ammo. You heard there are some nice shops in old customs area. You go and venture out there but very soon your friend Dimitri stops you and tells you only scavs that belong to Rashala's group can loot the area AND on top of that recently some ex-PMCs got interested in construction site. But if you want, Dimitrii can get you ticket inside the faction as long as you do couple errands for Dima, local chad. Overall you can play with different factions, make some choices on who to help, meet different bosses and do lots of fun quests while doing slav things. And you get to kill some amerikans. With time you gain recognition, find better guns, customize your looks and gain access to better areas, like gas station which customs Boss, Rashala, occupies. If you betray your faction they will attack you, in the beginning rather hesitantly but over time you can start entire wars by bringing up to 4 friends from another faction. Your stash will be small and you'll have to think of what to keep. Money will be used to buy off bounties on your head if you anger certain groups and buy better weaponry. This will be the ultimate Tarkov experience.

    Switching Factions/PMC

Hey so I really don't like how USEC looks and I also don't like how that's the pmc most people choose. I really wanna switch to BEAR, but I've heard you can no longer do this even if you reset the game profile. If you do this, the game just snatches away all your loots and xp and your just like "wtf tarkov" Is this still the case, and I just need to wait for a patch reset, or can I just reset and switch factions now. PLS NO TROLL
  5. These may be a silly questions but could someone please clarify; 1 - What is the difference in the factions? i.e. why don't you just get a character for each of the 3 factions and have different uses for each one? 2 - What happens when you and a friend choose different factions , i.e. can you still play together/ squad up? 3 - Are the tasks/objectives different between the two? 4 - How do you distinguish the difference between scav/usec/bear in game? Thanks in advance.
  6. So, I'm super excited for the karma system to drop and the prospect of hopefully seeing some more tactical playstyles develop that incorporate cooperation. And I've also had a couple ideas that i think would work well together with it to further encourage cooperation. These ideas all revolve around extending the insurance system to include an engraving/faction stamp feature. With this the insurance feature would not only be a means of returning gear but also affecting what can be done with it if it is looted. 1. Give players the option to return gear from their own faction in return for a small amount of karma. This would help balance out the issues of reactive fire. No matter how harsh the karma system turns out to be this is always going to be an issue. EfT is a high intensity game and there are always going to be situations where if you are surprised you will react before having time to take in faction markers. Being able to return gear for karma would help people balance out these situations. Not completely negate the negative karma though, returned items would only grant a fraction of the karma of killing faction members. It would require returning a players entire kit to even come close to breaking even. Which brings us to why players should even get karma back for returning gear. It would require them sacrificing their inventory space to carry these items out of the raid when they will get no use out of them. 2. Services offered by traders would be limited on gear marked as taken from your own faction. In the interest of maintaining business relations, traders will only remove and replace the engraving/stamp if it was originally the opposite faction. This would mean that they will refuse to insure gear taken from your own faction. You can still use it, but if you lose it it is gone. Gear taken from opposing faction has no changes. The engraving/stamp is removed, you can do everything you can currently do now with that loot. Certain traders would also either refuse to buy same faction marked gear or only pay 50% of regular value. Even fence would pay less than usual. 3. Gear sold back to the same trader who insured it at the reduced amount could potentially then be offered back to the original owner for an extra fee (potentially the other 50% of its value). If this was done traders would effectively contact the player saying that they "have tracked down the item, but it would be extra costly to procure, beyond the normal level of service provided". These offers could also be time limited and dependent on someone not buying the item for full price first. 4. Cleaning services could be added through hideout, fence maybe, but they would be expensive. Something like 150% of weapon value to clean it, enabling the player to insure it again. What do people think? I've tried to take game balance into account, by allowing players to still gain from using the gear and not completely removing the ability to profit from it, just reducing it.

    Switching Faction

I recently bought the game August 2, and I influenced to pick USEC over Bear. But after playing the game for a little over 2 weeks and watching a few videos I realized I made a mistake. Is it possible to switch my faction from USEC To Bear? I mainly want to switch because of the amount of people already playing USEC and I like the way the Bear looks better.
  8. Another thread about Player Scav on Player Scav. Just got on to Customs to find me that Docs container, spawn in, run around warehouses for about a minute, see a Scav with an Ak 74u. Thought nothing of it until he saw me, then he rattled off a full mag in my direction. Luckily managed to flank him and get the drop on him, he still took 3 shotgun shells though. So I'm there, feeling annoyed at this guy, and about to pick up his AK and get out of there. Next second, some AI Scav shouts in Russian at the top of his lungs and domes me with a Makarov. Well, there's another hour gone where I can't get Scav. Not my idea, but someone on here mentioned that if a Player Scav kills a Player Scav, then the time they have to wait to play Scav again increases for each Scav/Player Scav they kill. Anyone else thinks that's a good idea ?

    A Couple Things

Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying this closed beta as much as I am even with the few hiccups I have encountered. Over-all great experience so far. Just a few suggestions/recommendations on my behalf. First of all, I would like to note group spawning, which in my opinion in THIS particular game, is quite crucial. This game takes a lot of inspiration from the DayZ mod in terms of it's PvP, but I would like to note that this is labelled as an FPS/TPS with RPG elements, and while I understand you devs are going for the most realistic approach possible, I think it may be a good thing to subtly tag/mark team/group members, as every character model looks the same, and I understand you may not have completed the character models you have in mind, regardless at 50-100 metres you wanna keep track of formations and such as the looking around in this game isn't as easy as free looking in ARMA. So may be a good idea. Secondly: I'm not sure if your plans include group spawning yet but if not then maybe you should consider it. I know in DayZ you would meet up and coordinate however immersively, but I'm gonna go on a limb and say that most players who group, are either skyping, team speaking or on Discord. If you understand my point? They're all communicating via sources outside the game, so in that sense group spawning would be a nice feature, and maybe make it optional as well, in case the group decide on making separate insertions and meeting at a certain point the evac-ing, just a thought. Thirdly, AI/Scavs/NPC/Bots: Not sure (again) if this is a permanent feature, but I like it, contrary to the mixed feelings I've seen about it. I had a gander at a few of the in-included maps, and saw the difficulty setting. I am assuming it's either because of the openness of some maps so more player spread between other players and AI's, or it's to do with the difficulty of the AI, just my thoughts. But yeah that's pretty much it, hope you read this and maybe consider my thought's. Like I said i'm really enjoying the game and the tension, really great atmosphere too. Jake

About the Background of USEC and BEAR

Having read up the setting of EFT, I got an interesting theory regarding the background of USEC and BEAR that I want to share with you guys. THEORY: I think USEC and BEAR are fighting a US-Russia proxy war, and them being PMC is just a front. They are actually made up of active members of US or Russian special forces, who have been transferred to CIA or FSB, and act under the support or direction of them. So when I say special forces, I'm talking TIER 1 units. In the case of USEC, DEVGRU and CAG. BEAR, FSB Directorate "A" -Alpha, and Directorate "B" -Vympel. So what gives? First of all, here's the official setting of EFT, for those of you that haven't read it. I'll underline the phrases that inspired this topic. "a transatlantic corporation became the ground zero of a political scandal. Six months later, the political standoff escalated into an armed conflict involving UN peacekeepers, Internal Troops of Ministry of Internal Affairs, and two private military companies." Fishy, no? "The most active forces in the Norvinsk region are two private military companies, hired by the sides of the initial conflict. USEC, employed by notorious Terra Group international corporation, vigorously engages in armed clashes, hindering the investigation of Terra Group activities, carried on by local authorities. Moreover, according to intelligence agencies, USEC provides armed cover to illegal work and research of the foreign company, whereas BEAR, allegedly created by a direct order of the Russian government, is employed by the Norvinsk region officials to uncover any evidence of the Terra Group illicit activities." This is all too obvious now. Need I say more? What do you think guys? Yes or no? P.S. In fact, I'm just trying to convince devs and you guys that we would be playing as TIER 1 operators so that we can justify having their weapons, gears, and camos in game.
