Hi BSG, I also made a reddit post on this very topic, but figured I should also drop my suggestion here as well. All my mates (and myself included) are reallllly hoping this can be taken into consideration. Seems like it could be an easy fix as well! Either way, thanks for your time and consideration. Just going to copy and paste my reddit post to save some time (hope that's okay): Want to start by saying I think BSG has been doing an AMAZING job with the game. Every patch that comes out not only drops a poo load of new content, and tons of QOL improvements. Having said that... this has been something that's been bugging me since day one. The ambient wind!! Every raid on every map (besides factory) it sounds like we're in a wind tunnel. It would be nice to have some raids where all you hear is the birds chirping and then GUN SHOTS. Otherwise mostly silence. When I go outside IRL I don't hear wind every day that sounds like a storm is on the horizon. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to do away with it completely. Maybe treat the loud wind the same as you do with the rain effects in the game. Some raids it's drizzling, other raids its a down pour. Maybe if you plan on having it storm in the game, have the wind pick up first... or something to that effect. Either way. Loving the game, would just be really cool to not be ear raped by wind every so often. Thanks!
Just a quick suggestion i would think it would be more realistic if the "windy days" on the woods map intended or not have a breeze sound effect cause the category 2 wind storms on the map sometimes seem off without any sound effects.
This is some fanboy type love, so if you don't like the look of it, don't look at it.. I would like to commend and congratulate the devs for the weather effects in game and what I believe may be more recent improvements to it as well. Our group were in a few raids last night and this was a big subject of discussion. The weather effects never cease to amaze us, from beautiful red sunrises with the mist burning off over the horizon through the woods. To the wind effects and the swaying of the fauna and trees (albeit slightly too much sway at distance at this time we feel). the raindrops on the guns and your screen are so immersive and well animated they look so beliveable. Last night iced the cake for us, torrential rain, thunder and lightning with water running down the screen, a real droning noise to accompany which works both for and against you. We were just blown away with this, absolutely the best weather effects of any game, ever! Weather systems and effects are something that so many other titles have never managed to recreate but BSG has really nailed it. Well done devs, I look forward to much more of the same going forward.
In the wonderful EFT gameplay videos I can't help but notice the trees swaying in the wind. If this has not been done so already, adapt how wind affects the EFT natural environment so that EFT players can make Beaufort Wind Scale type observations regarding such matters as whether or not wind causes leaves to be in constant motion or whether or not the wind causes branches to move and small trees to sway, in order to estimate wind speed. Likewise, use stuff like smoke blowing in the wind or the direction grass blows to help players identify the direction wind is blowing.
