Have raiders been buffed?

As little as two weeks ago I used to make loads of money with relatively little effort on Labs by just avoiding players at all costs and only fighting Raiders. Easy 400-500k roubles per raid average if the occasional death was accounted for.

Now, all of a sudden, I find it almost impossible to survive at all. Statistically I can't even make up the cost of the keycard because the raiders, while mostly the same, now often one-tap me in ridiculous ways. For instance it's happened multiple times that one of them comes from around the corner and headshots me before I can even take aim at him, let alone shoot. And that's in situations where I was expecting that raider, knew exactly where he would pop up and was in every other way ready.

This sort of BS almost never happened before. If I died to a raider, it was usually because of complacency or other actual mistakes on my part, not them having some sort of superhuman reaction and aim. Any exceptions just felt like bad luck and I knew the next raid would make up for it.

It can't be a streak of bad luck, I'll tell you that. I went basically overnight from a stash that was constantly so full that I had difficulties making space for all the gear I was bringing back to a stash that might as well belong to a rookie lvl10 player who hasn't found out about the Flea Market.

So. Have the raiders been buffed somehow? If so, what's the reasoning behind this? Or am I just encountering some weird glitch all of a sudden? How can I get back on track?

You are not alone. They are ridiculous now. I think there was a mini update which changed the AI. I now get lazer one tagged through bushes by Scavs. Gen4 armour, Killa helmet and still..one tap SCAV kills! 

The AI is more dangerous than the players...wth.

To be honest I played Labs pretty much exclusively so I wouldn't know if anything has happened to normal scavs.

Maybe they did something to fix the Scav leg aim issue and in the process just accidentally made all AI way deadlier?

AI has changed, but i have no idea how it has affected on Labs raiders.

Normal scavs has different behavior models and they tend to aim more center mass. Sniper scavs might have little different aiming points compared to roaming scavs. 
Maybe it's just Nikita's way of saying that there are other maps too, not only Labs ;)

Making the Raiders more more skilled would be a way to get that message through.

But this change didn't make them seem more skilled. I don't feel more challenged by them, most of them die just the same. But now, when I die to them it doesn't feel like I made a mistake, there's nothing at all I could learn from my death, nor was there any way to prevent it that I could have realistically thought about beforehand. I just died because the game decided so.

 

And when the stuff I'm expected to do on the other maps involves having to headshot 250 scavs in one raid between 14:37 and 14:38 from a distance between 352 and 354 meters with 12 gauge buckshot while wearing an unicorn horn and yellow panties and the reward is maybe a tenth of the cost of the panties alone then I'd much rather just keep doing Labs, thankyouverymuch.
