ArchMadman
getting destroyed so badly and getting 1 shotted round after round after round has caused me to completely have my confidence destroyed to the point where im now playing confused and unsure how to play correctly I'm not sure I know how to kill people right heck scavs are giving me a hard time now should i just give up and wait till .12? I'm not sure what to do to rebuild my confidence heck at this rate it would probably take me about 12 to 15 rounds or more to complete a quest Im not trying to sound like im a lousy shitty player as i have played average in the past but something as of late has caused me to go way downhill
Mariner
What’s changed mate? Is it because you’ve changed your normal play style to complete a quest? Are you using different gear? Different servers? What is different now to how you were playing when you were an “average player“?
TheMcGrittle
Unless you're just an FPS natural, I think we all have been there. Sometimes when I take a break from the game I come back as rusty as ever and get owned. I find what often builds my confidence is offline mode on factory (PVE on of course) and run your typical load out. Practice playing aggressive and getting comfortable with firefights. You're still going to die and get frustrated but I think you'll find this helps practice with gun play. As for getting one shot from out of no where.... All you can do is yell "hacks" and keep on keepin' on m'friend. May lord Nikita watch over you. Happy hunting! 1

Otichoo
I have been there . I know the feeling to well. My survival rate is around 15% so i get your struggles Best advise i can give is to take your time with the game and especially with yourself. Yes you will die a lot , but that should not discourage you. You won't get to the point where you just cannot do anything . Even if you reach there, the game will give you some stuff to keep you going Try some offline mode and learn the guns with aiming , also learning a few maps also helps . Also play Scav mode as much as possible. Even if you die, you won't lose much and it can help you learn the maps aswell These are the advise i received, i hope it will help you too You can do it

After killing a scav near one of the entrances and trying to reload I found out that all the magazines except for the one in my gun were actually M1A magazines. So I emptied and ditched them and went for the Road to Customs extract. And I got killed by some exit camping [REDACTED] named [DATA EXPUNGED] like two meters from the extract. So overall this thread didn't help me right now. Edited July 30, 2019 by Wurfy
sleava
My advice. Do scav runs: lots of them. It will help build your skills, especially because the limited gear will force you to use different strategies. You will die again and again, but when you do kill a geared player, it gives a lot of satisfaction. Or you could do what I do: learn how to make money in the market and Leeroy Jenkins every game.
Krymz_
a lot of players play purely for the PvP and don't care about quests, other than them being good agro. You'll be trying some sneaky metal gear stuff, and then you'll get one taped because the one guy who just came on the map for pvp and that knows how to dodge scavs somehow, knows exactly where you shot from earlier and where you are going and will wait for the perfect shot when you least expect it. ducking sucks. (though i run at the gun noises too when i need to kill PMCs for quests). Edited July 30, 2019 by Krymz_

Pretty much. When I was doing the setup quest, I learned how to run around the construction site in customs quite casually without alerting the scavs. Didn't change the fact I was trying to kill geared players with a shotgun.
