eftcurious2
Does this game have randomized loot yet? Or do you still find the same thing in the same places? Was thinking of installing again then I remembered why I stopped playing XD A looter with static loot locations is probably one of the dumbest game design choices you could possibly make. 2

I haven't seen guaranteed loot in this game, ever.

Glad you're keeping it uninstalled then. That kind of toxic, negative attitude isn't needed around here anyways. Saying it like EFT is the only game in existence with static loot spawn points. 1

Vodor
There is static loot, but it’s not always there. Keys and similar that have purpose are half static, half random on scavs or boxes etc. Other things like LEDx is also static but only a chance to spawn, so not exactly end of the world loot placement. Underhook
I could be wrong but as far as I can tell they have not randomised loot yet. So you wont find the factory key in a filling cabinet for example. I agree, it seems like poor design but I guess they can claim its beta as Thormato suggested. However at the current rate the game will be in beta for at least 4 more years.
eftcurious2
Thanks to the people who gave HONEST answers, and not fanboy in denial answers The devs need to know this is stupid, or it will never change.

If that's the logic you're going with, then Rust isn't a full release game yet (even though it is) because loot containers spawn in the same, static locations at every location in the map. The intent is to give every map some sort of hotspot to go to, and incentives that revolve around high value loot further pushes for that kind of style as of now. While it's true that the large majority of locations have high chances of mediocre or no loot spawns, it still does give reason to explore (random weapon crates in the woods and what not). I highly doubt that dynamic looting will become a thing until skills like lockpicking are implemented. We wouldn't want high tier loot just laying around in the open and super easy to find (it could be super rare, but very unlikely), so it would pretty much only make low tier loot dynamic. With lockpicking, several inaccessible rooms in maps could be accessed and looted accordingly.
