Madithamonsta
Is it just me or do you pretty much have to be going out there with mostly endgame loot right now? THE ONLY RAID i've survived since this began, I only got out because I went a way that has almost 0 scav spawns along it and the closest I got to being in a fight was when a guy tossed a nade at me and I threw one back. I literally only completed a quest related to planting markers, thats the only thing I did that raid because I was being so cautious and didn't wanna lose my gear. I haven't had any fun. Its only been frustration for me. I get that this is a hardcore game but I don't think that it should ONLY be Raiders out there right now. Besides that, if the only way for you to make money in this pre-wipe event is gonna be to survive, I think I'm done until the wipe. And another thing. No, getting rid of the gamma won't remove hatchet runners. They're just gonna play more cautiously and you might be forcing them to carry a backpack. If you really wanna get rid of them in such a way that a geared person doesn't have to deal with it, you need to do matchmaking based off of loot tiers such that hatchet runners get matched with hatchet runners/very low tier loot players and only low tier stuff spawns. Honestly I use my gamma to grab a few items such that when I die, sure I lost the gear I came in with, but I at least had the consolation prize of whatever I managed to grab and stash in there. Odds are that geared up monster ain't gonna be missing the few items I managed to stash in there anyways, because he's gonna be getting loot off of more than just my body. I honestly don't think that there is any issue with playing the game like this, and I think that playing like this should be a viable way to play. The only way you can get better is if you're allowed to fail without bankrupting yourself. And if they are gonna get rid of placing items in your gamma completely. Then scav raids shouldn't have a 10 minute cooldown. I literally had one end about 30 seconds in because I rounded a corner and another player scav was waiting with a shotgun. When you have nothing to your name and you gotta wait another 10 minutes to get into a raid with some gear I can pretty much guarantee that 9/10 people are gonna do a hatchet run anyways. TLDR: This pre-wipe event is just frustrating and I really don't see why BSG is going ahead with blocking the gamma access for this pre-wipe event. They shouldn't be considering it. They should be looking into better measures against hatchet running that don't affect the ways that legitimate players have played since the game went on sale and access to the game began. Hardcore players might not mind so much, but anyone who doesn't have more than a couple hours per day to spend playing this game won't be able to have much fun at all. 1
TUALMASOK
I hate the pre-wipe events, but I've had a lot of fun with this one. Woods is great, sniping Raiders and leaving with better gear than I started with.

JoJo_Reaper
No, you certainly do not have to go out with end-game loot to have some fun (killing Raiders and maybe some PMCs) or survive. All you have to do is know how Raiders operate, and aim for the head. You can survive & thrive with a Zsh-1-2M helmet, lvl.3 armour & a pistol with semi-decent ammo (higher the better, obviously). We did 5 raids last night..all with pistols on Factory, holding down the Shower room area..not caring one bit whether we survived or not..and it was super fun. The difference between players like us, and newer players, isn't the gear, armour, weapons, ammo type, or any other in-game factor. It's the knowledge/experience you've accrued the more & more you play Tarkov. Over time you start to see patterns (places where everyone like to go, how Raiders operate, how Scavs operate). I kid you not, just like when you started out & Scavs completely owned you, now they feel too easy. You can get to the same level VS most Raiders (the fact some of them, just like the Scavs, kick my butt from time to time keeps me on my toes..which is another good thing about EFT in general..same with Hunter Scavs). Stop measuring your success by wheter or not you survive a Raid..Measure it by how well you did under pressure <- this, for me at least, is the true measure of success & progress/learning. The more you can calm your nerves under pressure, the better you will be. If you die..you die..so what?..(iss only game)..process why you died..how you died, and chalk it up to experience..move on to the next raid & try again. Only with time will you truly start to put all the pieces together, of what Tarkov is really about. There is no 1 thing that can save you, and there is always 1 thing that can kill you. (words to live by). Even fully geared, you can die just as easily if you mess up. EXAMPLE (story time): We did Interchange, literally cleared the entire shopping mall...after looting Kiba, one headed in G-Store, I was in Razmussen & our 3rd was behind hold leading to parking lot. Our buddy in G-Store dies to a shotgun...the Scav Player rushes me & gets 4 shots off on my legs, nearly dead, I try to heal/spot him (in hindsight, should've gone behind cover to protect my legs as I was wearing faceshield + Gen4 Assault and he only had buckshot)..he then comes back & finished me off. A shotgun Scav Player killed 2 out of 3 guys before he died. I simply call "WP to him", and remember to protect my legs behind cover whenever in that situation again. 1 death = 1 lesson learned..and over time you'll get to the point where everything starts to make sense & you're making right decisions. Death is all part of the Tarkov experience, IMO.
Vodor
@JoJo_Reaper has it right, experience over gear 🙂
Madiakz
I appreciate that the pre-wipe events aren't to everyone's taste, they are just a little bit of fun to stay goodbye to the current patch and take out all those sexy rifles people have been stashing. It's also a good time to try new things like the secure container change as it is not going to affect players progress at this stage, see how people feel about the change and gather feedback. As this could be a huge game changer, doing it at the beginning of a wipe could really divide the community. At the end of the day, the events don't last that long, if you don't enjoy them then it's a perfect time to take a few days break, catch up on some other games or IRL things and get ready to grind that new patch! 😁
lastchancegamin
this round of prewipe events are amazing. should randomly happen more often

A random change a group of scavs are replaced with a small squad of raiders would breath new life to old maps and make raids a bit less-predictable. Hijack_Dallas
If I got shot out of nowhere, than I run away. But this is the pre-wipe, so there is no need to keep your stuff. As long i knew, where my enemy are, than i get my chance for a kill. And Raiders are a joke, if you know, how to beat them. Just snipe them over 100m+.
