Questions on AI

Hello there, im new to tarkov (started this week) and did a couple of raids with my pmc. Now im in a need of funds and seemed like the best option to run factory as a scav and loot dead bodies but i've come across something that i dont really understand.
When i go factory as a scav AI sometimes just unloads they'r guns on me and im dead and other times they walk by me like im a friend. I know AI scav won't attack me unless attacked but with the raiders event on im getting confused, sometimes they kill me sometimes they don't. Was hoping someone could enlighten me on what makes them shoot me and what makes them not shoot me.

Not 100% sure of this.

I think USEC raiders will shoot at player scavs on sight and Bear raiders will will only shoot if you’re too close for too long. 

Normal scav AI will ignore player scavs until fired upon.

It could also be another player scav that’s already taken some dead raider gear.

Above is correct, including if YOU fire at a Player scav who fired at you first. You hit any scav, they will attack you. 

Raiders with an AI boss will give you a warning, and then fire at you. (Customs scav boss guards).

Raiders you saw because of pre-wipe events fire at anyone. Normally only on Labs which is not available as a scav.
