batarn
I'm just going to get right into the issue, but first a very small story. So I decided to grab an M4, night vision, and armor to go on Night time customs. Did very well, killed a SCAV and a PMC, even found a marked key. The issue I'm about to talk about happened at Customs Gas station. Before I approached, I looked and checked and didn't see anyone. So I approach, and right as I get close to where the first ambulance is, I see a SCAV. Okay, no problems...Until I hear a SCAV scream VERY close to me, and a 'DINK!', then an explosion a second afterward. Just like that, the SCAVS saw me, threw a grenade, and killed me under two seconds. Didn't get a chance to react, run, fight, or anything. Just like that, all of the loot and the M4 gone. Now in comes the complaints. SCAVS feel WAAAAY too aimbotty this patch, I've done rounds on woods where a SCAV had a stockless vepr and was able to hit me from the middle of Lumberyard on woods, and hit me in the legs while I was proned on 'Sniper's rock' (don't ask me how the leg shots happened). Also, why is it the SCAV's first reaction to start throwing grenades if they have them? The weird thing is that SCAVS either feel too dumb previous patches, or they feel aimbotty. Let's start a discussion, anyone have any similar experiences? Also, for anyone who even thinks of 'Git gud', please go find the nearest Porcupine and shove it up where the sun doesn't bloody shine. hermanJnr
There are three issues with scavs atm: 1. The frequency of scav spawns on some maps. 2. The extreme aggression and bravery of the scavs. 3. The aimbotting of the scavs in outdoor environments. First of all, Scav spawns are far too frequent on Factory, and sometimes the larger maps too. Sometimes they spawn near constantly, in big groups, to the extent you don’t even get a chance to loot a body or reload your mags before another 5 scavs are charging you. This just repeats in 3 or 4 waves until you die. That should be toned down imo. If you kill a bunch you should get a breather before you just get mobbed instantly again. Next, the scavs are IMO far too aggressive and it’s silly considering their lore purpose. They are supposed to be opportunistic scavengers, criminals, looters and random civvies. Yet you can kill 5 of their friends right in front of them and they never panic or retreat, they just charge straight forward sprinting and spraying at you like SAS trained Terminators with no self preservation. Finally, as you pointed out, their detection and aimbotting on outdoor maps is kind of ridiculous. They seem quite happy to shoot through bushes and trees that the player can’t see through and have a huge detection radius it seems, which doesn’t seem to change much at night either. I think their aim is fine, but their detection and AI needs some tweaking.
Poriomania
I agree with herman, there are three issues. 1. the scav frequency is too low. There should be more scavs guarding loot to discourage hachlings. 2. given that i saw scavs panic and run away from me after i unload a few hits into them makes me think they arent brave enough. 3. they aimbot during the day and are blind as a bat at night.
