Got tarkov'd

Just joined a raid on interchange, i'm 2 minutes in and randomly the game announces that the server is closing in 4 minutes, the red timer starts top right. I'm on interchange.... my extract is across the other end of the map. I'm freaking out because I have my top gear on, so I start sprinting, someone spots me and frags me. I lose all my top gear.  

 

Why did my server close so soon? Has it ever happened to anyone? What the hell... that's like 500k worth of gear.

In my experience, server shutdowns/restarts don't make you lose your gear if you don't make it to the extract.  But the last time I got caught in the middle of a shutdown was two or three wipes ago so I don't know how they are now.

All my stuff is gone. So I should hide in a bush next time. duck, the feels on this one are rough

So, same thing happened to me.  But it just started at a 2:00 minute countdown on Snoreline.  It shut down, servers restarted and I had all of my gear.  Then about a few days ago, same thing, I just sat in a bush.  Servers restarted, everything was gone.  There is no rhyme or reason.
