stanmanth2
The Hensoldt 4-16X FF scope is described as a Front Focal Plane (FFP) optic. It does not behave as such since the reticule remains a constant size at low and high magnification. The Nightforce ATACR 7-35x can be had in Second Focal Plane(SFP) but they are usually FFP since SFP subtentions are only good for one magnification (usually highest). I am assuming that these optics will eventually be rectified to show the correct FFP reticule. The other inconsistency is that variable optics offer a analog spectrum of magnification unlike prism optics like the Specter DR and Valday 320. I don't know if this can easily be done in game but one of the great advantages of a variable is to be able to run a magnification appropriate to the task, e.g. 1x for kicking doors, 3x for general use and 6x for longer shots. The balance of Field of View vs. magnification is the big pay day on them. I hope this can become the basis of a thread in the Weapons Department (which I cannot create a new topic directly to).
