Do you have any tips for someone new to the game?

I only got this game 2 weeks ago and haven't had much opportunity to play it, so does anyone have some tips?

Yes, don't bother trying, their is too much cheaters at the moment, delete the game and come back few years later when game will finaly be ready.

I'm sorry for all those poor people who see streamers playing, come here to play and after a few hours they understand that something is wrong, and no, it's not their fault, let's say that this game is very well advertised by many streamers but the reality it is very different.

Get mates or a Sherpa, they will show you how this game goes. There is a heavy shitton of knowledge you need to obtain

Play only one map, learn the extracts/hot spots and so on. Play only one gun, learn how it goes and get used to it. (AK or sks would be a good way against heavy players)

Try to make faceshots. And don't cry everytime you die cheater, I ain't seen many of them. Most deaths are due serverlag or other things. 

And the very best tip, use the search function of the forum. There are many threads like this, with videos or other guides and helping stuff.

Play offline , a lot, until you can memorize the map layouts and item locations like the back of your hand and are able to kill multiple ai scavs and the bosses without even thinking about it. Seriously.

Use the Tarkov wiki , it shows and tells you all kinds of valuable info, releating to quests, ammo ballisitcs, etc...

Map knowledge is huge. Like 5point5sixGUY said, learn the maps in offline raids. There are few worse feelings than actually having loot and not knowing where the exfil locations are as you frantically run around the map with the raid timer slowly counting down to your demise.

Also, learn the ammo charts. You don't need to run the most expensive ammo all the time as a new player, but there is some ammunition that definitely should be avoided. I always say the following to new players: "Fancy guns don't win you firefights. Good ammo does". What I mean is, if you are lacking on money, don't spend it all modding the guns only to be putting low tier ammo in it. Maybe spend a bit on some new optics and a recoil reducing stock, but also throw some higher tier ammo in the mags. It will serve you well.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I have gotten the hang of things in Reserve and I've got to say that it's a pretty decent map. I like the game although it's very challenging and the trading aspect of the game game is cool. Thanks, again!

Jump on the official discord, there’s loads of people willing to help and teach, run offline if you want to learn maps also, use your scav runs for making money and enjoy the game
