Differences in matchmaking times

I play this with my brother. After a good day of relatively quick matching we slowed down around 7pm Eastern US. It then took us ~15 minutes to find a match if we were lucky. After I got off he reports being able to match almost instantly (within 1 minute or as soon as the map was loaded), while I sat trying to solo que for over 30 minutes with no luck. I have no idea whats going on but I tested my ping to Dallas, one of the server sites, and had a good connect.

Anyone else having this issue and/or know how to fix it? I have every US server selected and it makes no difference.

My cousin and I have had this experience for about a week now.  Mornings in Pacific timezone are like 1m 30 sec to match on Customs (AMAZING), then in the evening about 7pm or so, they start to extend (10m-20m makes me a sad panda).  Happens until after we go to bed at 2am on fri/sat night.

Thats just server load waiting for new game instances to free up
