died without any clue how

So i spawned into woods. Walked around a bit. Fell over. Apperently i died.

It was a PMC, as that was what the screen said after I died. 

What bothers me is that I didnt even hear a shot. I just rolled over and died. 

The screen after said "least hit bodypart - head". Now this confiuses me, if the least hit bodypart is the head, how did I die? Getting oneshot is normally a headshot? I was wearing  level 3 body and  head gear btw. Hoping this would at least give me some time to react, but I might as well just run in naked....

Is this a bug? Or is this a bad translation in the "score" screen, and it was actually a headshot after all?

happens to me couple times too, last time killers name was xchiter or something.. was on scav run and heading to checkpoint and suddenly i just died without any sound!

I am new, but I noticed that you can see where did the killing blow hit next to your name at death screen, the first one with the name of your killer. Thorax is the chest, took me a while to realise that hehe... 

Also I though that any armor is better than no armor, but I was told that everything below lvl 4 is just dead weight cos better bullets go through them like it's nothing and they slow you down, most players use only the best ammo (the 1600 for one bullet kind) that can burn through lvl 6 armor in seconds.

So my (not very educated) guess would be that you got sniped from far away by some silenced sniper with high pen ammo.

There is a currently a few bugs like frame drops and even full game freezing when a player interacts with the world for the first time - you can sometimes notice this when you shoot your gun for the first time, or you see PMC's for the first time, or when looking in inventory whilst a PMC/AI is near (all 3 of these have happened to me frequently, there is a thread about the bug which can be easily found if you want some more info). This can probably be the reason why you died the way you did, or you were shot by a silenced rifle from a fairly long distance and you got the sweet sensation of a piping hot caliber to the thorax. Either way you got Tarkovd, sometimes this poo happens and it's infuriating, but in time things like this will hopefully be solved.

This is probably what happened. You can easily be one shotted through level 3 to the thorax and if your killer is suppressed and far enough away you'll never hear the shot. 

I was cruising customs the other day and same thing happened. I got one tapped on the run in the thorax with only some 2 armor on. I'm learning the ways of the armor now 😂

This sounds about right, I recall the thorax part actually. So body armour level 3 is useless, got it. I knew it wasnt the best but didnt know it was useless against certain types of ammo.

an LPS round can one taped you in the chest. 

It might be a suppressed mosin.

So lvl 3 isnt actually useless as they are all saying its just useless against higher players or anyone using a high pen ammo type.
There is unfortunately a lot to learn with ammo as a really high pen round often does low flesh damage.  For instance the SNB round can pen lvl 6 armor easily but it also wont kill on one hit (unless head) where as the 7n1 pens lvl 4 and sometimes 5 but kills one hit to the chest

Lvl 3 armor is fine on low levels as it gives you great defense against scavs and players using low kit (which right now there are a ton with all the new players) it will be quite useless later on but its still better then nothing Especially with how accurate scavs are.
