Extraction Frustrations

I'm sorry, but something about this aspect of the game needs to change. My crew of three...had all DIFFERENT extractions. PLEASE keep at least ONE all the same, because we thought we were all going to escape, but no..only one of us could. Give us knife with a compass attached to it please (Those have existed for awhile now). That'd make sense and NOT ruin the aspect of, "I don't know where the hell I am" .

In reality, I wouldn't be bothered by Pressing "O" and it point me in the direction ..because its weird that you can Press "O" now and magically know the name of your extraction and the time remaining.

OR

We could make it even more frustrating.. DON'T tell us the name of our extraction.

Only played a few games as a duo. And only scavs have had diffrent extracts as far as i have seen. Whats the problem with splittring up and going to diffrent extracts?

The "where the f*ck am I" thing gave me headhache in the first runs 'cause they told me to go customs... all those walls, rails and veichles made me mad about finding an exit.

Then some1 suggested me to go shoreline... my life (in game) changed, it's really easy to find the way in shoreline and nearly impossible to be blocked by looooong walls.

About the compass... they told me it's something that will be added, I'm talking about a compass in game as Artyom has in Metro, or an expensive electronic wrist one, surely NOT an HUD indicator, really too easy.

IRL you don't have an hook in the sky that can save you or a guiding star that leads you to Bethelm (ehm...)

About the "O" / "O+O" command I presume it could be a piece of paper you read, or a countdown you can make with your watch... better the "O" / "O+O" command.

Just my opinion uh! Ain't got the Truth in my hands 😉

its true that the game might need to add the directions for players level 15 and under lol. kinda of like a newbie program

Or you can just choose a map and play it until you learn it. Maybe play with a friend that will show you the ropes of the map. When I was new, my buddy showed me the ins and outs of Reserve and I now know all the routes, spawns, extracts, pathing, etc. like the back of my hand. And I suck at the game too. Just takes a little bit of time and patience. Nothing needs to be handed to players like an in game HUD. I like the realism aspect and if they added the compass or something, I think that would be pretty cool.

you basically disagreed with me right off the bat and came back around lol. Not everyone has the luxury of having a friend teach them the ins and outs. i'm argueing the fact that the game does not even give a tutorial on what to do for beginners is kind of frustrating. what im suggesting is instating a newbie program for people level 10-15 and under.

Like someone above me said earlier, giving the newbies a tactical knife with the directionals on it like North, South, East, and West. After someone buys a game, they would want to play it in some aspect rather than running around hours dying to random stuff. For instance starter gear only allows you to die 10 times as PMC before you are complete broke accounting food/water doing naked hatchet runs.

i play with a group of sweaty FPS players and basically reached level 15 in 3 hours of play so i got lucky. They taught me all the wallbang spots, spawn kill nades and angles to prefire so we average 15K exp/raid essentially. While this is fun for the first week when learning and playing a new game. It just isn't as fun later on as it feels like straight bullying newbie players due to their lack of playtime/knowledge of game.

Which also brings me to another point in the game, there should be a ranking system and difficulty should be increased in certain levels/maps. like a lvl 30+ zone or warning zones on the maps specifying higher danger levels or adding more scav RNG. My friends and i basically run around with naked silenced pistol map wiping and it gets really boring after a while due to our level advantage i.e endurance/metabolism/recoil/strength/stress reduction. like a naked level 55 PMC with a pistol will out tank any tier 4 level 20 beginner due to the level and skill differences.

No HUD. I mean, make the starting knife useful, by putting a small compass on the hilt of the blade. I can deal with getting murdered by players or scavs..but I'm sick of loosing good stuff because "Nope. Your extractions are different" or "Nope. You don't know where you are."

Sometimes, I'm dealt such shitty timers, the first thought it, "Welp, better go find the extraction. No time to do anything."

Extractions ARE only different for scavs. I don't think this is an issue. I've ran with friends and we've just planned to either extract in series or split up towards the end.
Use the wiki. They have really good maps showing all the locations of extractions to help you navigate to them. Throw one open on an extra monitor, have it tabbed in the background, open on your phone or even just print it out. I always had a map tabbed when I started, helps a bunch. I STILL look up scav extracts on the occasion I do scav runs since I don't know exactly where they are.

I've been playing for 2.5 years almost and still have to ask about Scav extracts, there's no shame in it 🤣

They might as well include a DECENT, in-game map then already. Save player some trouble for having to look it up like most others do. It should function similar to that of Day Z..

We already have maps in game, they’re not marked up but you can mark them up yourself in game (or at least you could back in 2017)

Maps in Tarkov work similarly to real life, you need to look at your surroundings, elevation/contours, landmarks, key features etc to figure out where you are. A compass will certainly help and it’s a shame one wasn’t implemented earlier
