New patch, locked out of Flea market, game crashes, lose all gear

So I've been scrambling up the steep EFT learning curve after I bought the game a month ago then upgraded to EOD a week ago and don't laugh but last night I finally got to level 5 after a month and was able to access the Flea Market. 
Today the game got patched and now I'm ten levels back from having access to the Flea Market. That's double from the first day I installed the game. 

Then I go into my first raid of the day and the game locks up instantly then crashes. I restart my computer and load up the game and it tells me I'm still in a raid and will be marked a deserter if I disconnect. I disconnect anyway as I figure I'm dead and sure enough I'm fully dead in all limbs head and torso and all my best gear is gone. 

Pity there isn't an in game insurance system to protect me from being screwed over by a patch.

I'm getting pretty bad choppy gameplay. And of course only run into high level fully geared out players that somehow know where I'm crouch lurking to and drop me before my client has time to load them on my screen. So, y'know, it's a fun patch so far...

Pretty sure they count a disconnect as a death, as a way to discourage people from disconnecting purposefully. As an aside, every time the game has crashed and I came back to a, 'still in raid' message, I reconnect and am alive and in the raid.

Do you think my disconnected counted as a death rather than me being taken out by a player or scav while disconnected?

Just to add that flea market unlocks at 15 now.

Cannot prove this but I'm pretty sure you cannot die when disconnected. Ive always returned alive; Maybe people who DC are those zombies you sometimes find standing around that don't die when shot?

In any case, if you don't return you get a death in any case, so next time just reconnect. Crashes happen, game is still in beta remember?

You can upgrade to EOD or do you have to buy the game all over again?

Yeah flea market changes are silly it only moves to make things harder for casual players..

You can just upgrade. I bought basic EFT then upgraded to EOD. 
Just go to the same website where you bought the game and as long as you are logged in it will give you the option to upgrade.
