Item Insurance

Hey,

I insured 2 items with Prapor and I received the messages saying they were retrieving my items but they never showed up in my inventory.

Do I need to go to a specific screen to find them or what am I missing.  I thought if you receive the message from the dealer it meant nobody looted the gear and you get it back???

Insurance works like this:

You insure items.

Prapor offers slow return times, 24-36h.

If your insured items are not looted and extracted, you get them back.

It they are looted and extracted, you don't get them back.

I realize that is how it works.  However I received a message from Prapor 24 hours after i died with insured items saying he was sending someone to retrieve my 2 items.  They never went into my inventory.  Is that a bug that he sends the messages but doesn't give your stuff back?

See, my problem with that concept, is that's not insurance, that's not how insurance works.  I was 3 days in before i realized just how big of a crock of crap "insurance" was. insurance means, something happens, YOU GET COMPENSATION. Period, end of story. it's not this, 'oh well see if its still there' crap. that is blithering nonsense. Didn't find my stuff? fine, ill take the value of the item or a replacement of the same item because that is how insurance works. Sure I'm a bit salty about some big losses in the first few days, but I'm not wrong.

in·sur·ance

noun

noun: insurance; plural noun: insurances

1.

a practice or arrangement by which a company or government agency provides a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment of a premium.

2.
a thing providing protection against a possible eventuality.

All item prices would crash instantly if this was the case

Sounds like what needs to happen then, is the insurance mechanic needs to be axed entirely...

Also, i find that completely nonsensical. I see no evidence to believe that. if you lose, you get out with nothing, if you had insurance, you get it back but the insurance badge poofs and you need to insure again just as it is now. the market may crash, but it would restabalize. thinking otherwise is just being dramatic.
