Gun Painting

A very nice add on would be the chance to paint guns to make them blend better with the surrounding enviroment,nothing crazy like COD but real gun camos,like the rhodesian style pattern for the FAL.

What do you guys think about this?

Any chance we will get this implemented?

I imagine it will come eventually, but will be hidden behind unlocks, like the character customisation is.

I like the idea too - Hope that it comes out as a reward for in game performance instead of a purchased skin type of thing.

Tbh even the purchase option would be ok in my opinion,or even maybe be able to paint them by scavanging the paint and tools on raids.

I’m looking foward for the Ak-12,and painted like that also....How badass is it??

Some customization options would be nice.. like patterns and some color options in the same shades as clothing.

According to the wiki and some Reddit post, gun painting is a planned feature. This is not something I would expect any time soon though, seeing as the devs would likely have to make a texture set for each gun, of each pattern, then the items and their assets, then the language for the paint station, etc. Right now, I just want the bloody servers to work and the cheats to be patched.

I'm not a fan of the unlock system for, say, clothing (Adik tracksuit notwithstanding). The game is already grindy enough. In the spirit of all things Tarkov, it should be something you have to assemble from items found in raid or purchased from someone. Maybe an upgrade to the hideout workbench, or a separate menu like Gun Modding and Presets.

i.e. Say you want to paint something a particular pattern, you should need to find rattle cans of those colors in the necessary quantities, or maybe materials necessary to create a ceramic coat, etc.

I could see particularly special patterns/colours being locked behind certain achievements like the tracksuit, however.

PS: If someone wants to rock a pink gun, more power to them, it's just a giant sign that says "I'm a person, shoot here!"

I agree about fixing the game first also,after 5 years of development the amount of problems still in place is big...

Oh dear no,i would stick only with real camo pattern,no modern warfare style ones
