OhNoNotScott
I bought the SKS on recommendation, then jumped into offline to play with it and found that I can reload the SKS till the cows come home without ever firing a shot. Inspecting the weapon shows it always has 9/10 bullets in it. Never 10/10. So it will always accept one more bullet, but never fill the 10th slot. My assumption is that the SKS, and perhaps other weapons, comes stock standard with an extra-dimensional ammunition pocket. Those Soviet scientists cracked the code, hey? If only I could find a way into that pocket. I bet there is a lot of ammo in there. Edit: I should have mentioned that I am able to fire 10 from the gun and it loads 10 when empty, but as I say will always accept one more. duli
When the bolt is opened, the cartridge in the chamber will be ejected. Then you'll put one in. That's why the amount doesn't change.

Its pretty easy to test really, when you reload the gun the bullet that's inside(when full) will be ejected, you can see it happen. Or you can remove the magazine (when in stash for example). Then you pick up a single bullet, put it on the gun. Then put in the mag. You now have 11 shots in the gun. "Magic".
