Offline Mode Question

New player here. Had a question about Offline Mode.

As I understand it, the devs have stated in the past that it will be removed close to launch. Is this still the case? I find Offline Mode to be incredibly useful to learning the game, maps, and so forth without risk but also no reward. It also lets you test weapons, ammo types, gear, and see what makes a difference to you instead of going into a raid, dying instantly, and losing that cool item before you could mess around with it. I saw somewhere that they intend to make groups able to go in "offline mode" but that seems to counter their intention to remove it.

I don't understand what would be gained from removing this as an option. I really like using it to get used to movement, shooting, aiming, and it builds a lot more confidence for when you actually raid.

From what ive heard they will never add a function allowing more than one player into an "offline" server. As for worrying about them removing it, I don't think you have to worry just yet. As you said they might remove it close to launch which will probabley not be any time soon. At this speed the game will no be launched in years so worry not.

launch is a loooong way off, if ever

There is also more pve coming....eventually? there is supposed to be solo/co-op vs ai missions coming at some point and a full single campaign?? if these will ever actually be made though who knows.  bsg has thrown around a ton of ideas since they started and only a fraction do we ever hear about again.

like EOD gets "Access to all future dlcs" that will be great, maybe my grand kids will be able to enjoy that feature

Hey, at least it ain't as bad as Star Citizen. BSG actually puts out content, and it's pretty solid content at that.

PVE stuff would be cool. I'm by no means against PvP, but as this is a hardcore milsim game, there's a steep learning curve and PvE helps with that a great deal. I don't think the majority of this community would appreciate it being flooded with PvE players and enjoy the brutal PvP nature of it, but more players can't hurt.

It has been confirmed to be coming in a "training/offline (sorta)" mode. Source:

Also, @DonnyBongwater, their original plan was to remove it completely (which they still might and probably will because I have not heard otherwise) but, *This is my opinion* they might replace it with some mode that it not technically offline. It will be more of a training or practice type mode. I just can't see them putting in such a welcome feature for newcomers (even though it is technically for testing) to the game and just removing it completely. No matter, I think they will create something just as good to help new players, even if it's not offline mode directly (also hideout is good for some of these things, definitely not all).

The original plan was to remove it by time of release. But plans have changed and it will be staying and at some point you will also be able to offline with friends to practice different tactics (no progress xp or progression)

Nikita was just talking about some kind of "scav life" dlc in a recent pod cast. He mentioned being able to play as a scav boss somehow. Who knows when it would come out though.
