New player question about Bear audio

Hello everyone,

I'm very new to the game and basically started out by selecting the Bear PMC because I thought it looked cooler.

However, I do not speak a bit of Russian and I have no clue what is going on when my character yells stuff out etc.  

Is there any way to get the Bear PMC to speak English or did I mess up big time by not going with the other one?  And if that is the case can you switch PMC after you select one?

Hey there Mitchell, the Bear faction does not speak English, it is possible they will add broken English for them later down the line but not yet. The only way (to my knowledge) will be to switch faction (to USEC) by resetting your game account (from your EFT profile page here:https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/).. Keep in mind this will reset everything back to what your edition of the game comes with. Sorry.

Well I'm only one run into my account, I've been mostly running though a couple maps with the offline mode to get familiar with them enough.  

So if I reset that will still give me back the package that I purchased?  like the big Gamma box and storage etc?

Oh okay, that's good to hear. At least you won't be losing really anything then. As Jeffrey said, yes. You will get everything back that your account comes with. Starter weapons, gamma, stash size ect.

Thank you all so much.  I hope they bring that in the future however.  I like the idea of the Russian PMC speaking broken English.  If they plan to do that will they do these "wipes" I hear about where they reset everything I wonder?

I think it would be a good feature, especially to be able to communicate with USECS. I'm not too sure what you mean by the second part but, they already do these wipes. They will continue to do so until the full release of the game. Matter of fact, there is one coming very soon (last we heard sometime this month, not sure if that is still the plan). I did the same, picked BEAR because it looked cooler, not knowing they don’t speak a tiny bit English, so I’m picking USEC after next wipe for sure.

I mean your character never says anything important anyway. I don't even think he talks at all unless you keep pressing a button. So if you want to be bear, it won't be any disadvantage.

not sure if anyone pointed this out but your character doesn't speak...the Russian you are hearing is from the scavs not your character and they always speak Russian or as one user said they might speak broken/heavily accented English eventually but currently no actual intel is gleamed from the yelling unless you hear dicky needles a bunch, then its absolutely a player bear 

The only thing your character says are things you directly say with hot keys and don't mean anything other then you pressed a key to say them.  Eventually USEC and BEAR will have differences and even start with slightly different starter loot but currently it just changes your voice lines and basic appearance
