Official release Wipe -Optional once per annually or semi-annually

As mentioned in the title, here's my humble idea for wipe.

Wipe - A sequence that fully reset one's account into initial state of game play.

 

I've been thinking that dev may make tarkov wipe annually or semi annually even after official release as our pmc finally finish serving their tour of duty or successfully escaped from tarkov. You can then chose to extend your pmc tour, continuing your wealth, stash and stuff but with some negative effect (low morale, start off each raid with some debuff, example hallucinating scav scream, gun shots, raider's conversation frequently). By sending your pmc home you can then chose some extra features for your next pmc (something like a prestiges system) example like free point to level up your desire skills at the character creation, extra start up cash, max level trader, weapon mastery, special clothing etc.

Devs have already said that at the start their vision was 100% no wipe, but as time has gone on and players have fed back they have acknowledged that doing more regular wipes would be a consideration.

I think wipes are perfect for a game like this and totally necessary, even if they split into a 'standard' league like PoE and a wipe league.  I bet most players wouldn't even care if no progress was saved on wipe characters, the game just gets incredibly stale as you are approaching playing for months of a wipe and players will slowly fall off.

 PoE sees its highest player counts every wipe and GGG have embraced the fact that you cannot keep player interest forever in a game like this, but doing resets brings players back consistently.

Even if its just cosmetic like a badge or something that shows next to your name depending on what you achieved or an api to view profiles from each league. 

I think Nikita already said that they don't want to work on Tarkov forever, it was meant to be a develop, release and move on type thing, but if the game has blown up and made them loads of money I don't see why they can't move most staff on to new projects once they are satisfied with the game and leave a small team of devs to work on minor updates and small bits of seasonal content to keep the game going.

I don't know if it is official but they was planning to have  temporarily accounts that you can have the no wipe and one with wipes servers like PoE. So they can see if it is worth it and give the seasons aspect to all players if they choose to.

I guess we need to wait and see.
