LoginTaken
Its absurd to kick someone out of a sever for high ping, especially if it happens for less than a minute. I understand its needed to stop people playing on severs in countries other than theirs, but this problem should never have been if not for the stupidity of the devs. Currently all this does is punishes players who purchased the game with spotty internet. What is with game devs these days in creating a service that is dependent on the consumers provider instead of the devs getting actually decent severs ? And y'all know whats gana happen with the next wipe. People whom have not been following the shadow updates will come back to a game unplayable for them, because of some lazy addition that kicks them for spotty connection. In addition to slow as duck connecting times to customs (Which we all know is gana happen again), the raids for the first week will be nearly full of afk players. If nothing is done to correct the issue, and the devs continue to rely on kicks. The devs will have updated the game in a way that makes it unplayable for an unknown percentage of the community. It will be another example of a developer taking the money and running.
DrBloom
This comes down to majority/minority, the majority of people with high ping are using it to exploit and gain an advantage, unfortuantely you are getting caught in the crossfire. I would assume (correct me if I am wrong) there is a time window in which it waits to see if your connection noramlises? or does it kick you straight away if you hit 'X' value? I know of someone who has spikes from time to time with his connection (happens in every game he plays) but hasn't had issues in Tarkov with getting kicked. ShiroTenshi
From my own experiences, it takes anywhere from around 30 to 60 seconds to actually get the 'boot'. It's not instant by any means. Unfortunately, as the DEVs have stated, this is a necessary evil. It may be changed in the future, and they can change the values of how high a ping and how long it takes for the kick, but the system is here to stay right now. At the end of the day, it is still a product that is under development. It is understood that things can be added, removed or changed during the development process. It is one of the biggest downsides of pre-ordering a game in closed testing, but it is one everyone needs to understand is a real possibility.
