Hacker frustration and perspective

I thought I would make a thread to say to everyone being taken advantage of by hackers that I feel your pain, but don't let it get you down because a little change in perspective can change everything and please let me explain.

BSG is actively closing loopholes and making it tougher for hackers, they are being caught in large numbers and every time they are BSG learns how to close another vulnerability. You lose your gear, they lose their account. Here are some facts to help keep a positive spin and I will have a couple closing suggestions at the end of it all:

-Radar and lag switchers are finding it harder and harder to do what they do. How do I know? The idiots have wide open forums where you can see almost in real time their frustration. It does not mean people have things not so public but it gives a good reading of their overall frustration and the demonstrated progress BSG is making.

-Run with a video capture program at all times like Nvidia Geforce Experience and I wish BSG would allow us to use not the filter but the kill and death capture highlight feature. Still if you run a replay buffer (I do 10 minutes at the highest resolution I can) you can capture that gameplay instantly and review it in slow motion to see what exactly happened. Sometimes our initial outrage will trick our memory and the video will show you simply missed something, or it may show a cheater red handed in which case you have solid proof to forward to BSG Support, but make sure to save your video after you get to the death screen so you have the persons name there in black and white.

-Twitch time always sees an influx of new players due to the publicity and with that comes professional hackers, but understand it is a temporary problem and it will assuredly die down. We have wipes coming all the way to release so this is all temporary anyways, even the hackers will be zeroed so take that solace and also the knowledge of knowing they may beat anti-cheat a few times but the law of averages says they will be caught and the zero tolerance policy means bye bye account and a HWID ban for them.

My final advice is if you get hacked really bad, get the video and send it to BSG Support and then either switch to a different server or take a break. Do something relaxing and spend some time away from the PC chilling and cooling off or play another game that is relaxing to you. This is an incredible game and it is only getting better as we go through the growing pains all together of hackers, bugs, and server issues. It will be better though and better runs are ahead of you so shrug those chumps off because in the end the joke is on them as it takes a truly inferior pathetic person to hack and garner enjoyment from having to rely on exploits in order to be competitive.

Not sure where you got your info but BSG actually just made it easier for hackers by allowing radars to start working again (after they were briefly blocked by the encryption through BE). Hackers go weeks without losing their accounts - BSG does this on purpose so that they can get enough loot/money to justify buying another account after being banned and doing it all over again. If they were banned instantly, they wouldn't buy another copy of EFT so less money for BSG.

That is a very jaded viewpoint that I think is born out of frustration, and I get it. Honestly though it is a cat-mouse game and if BSG did not care they would not pay for Battle Eye nor address the issue at all as they have been with the community. I believe their focus has been more on development and tuning rather than full on anti-cheat for a long time as we were and still are in beta. That said I have been with this game over 2 years and it is night/day from how it used to be.

I can also easily shoot down the conspiracy proposed of BSG banning for more sales by pointing out that bans are HWID, so they are banning the PC itself and not just an account. Are there ways around this? We all know the answer to that but the fact that they ban in this fashion (not a simple email account generic ban) is proof positive against the assertion that cheats are being encouraged somehow by the team and probably is infuriating as hell for them to see thrown at them when the changes you see them doing is all part of fighting a shadow like cat-mouse (again) war with these people.
