I have the money, now what?

Hello everyone,

So, I topped my first million rubles and am wondering where to go from here. Saving for one million was a goal (for myself) before I started making an effort to gear up. The issue is I have nothing to buy with my money and I think it may have to do with my play style. I am only level seven at the moment and have a fairly low survival rate. My K/D ratio is getting better, but mainly from killing lots of scavs.

I think I am maybe rolling under geared for actual play and it is hurting me. I typically load out with an SKS, about 40 rounds of 7.62, Paca body armor, balcava, basic headphone and helmet  from Ragman, and a shoulder bag. I keep my health items in my safe container.

I've started mostly with playing Customs. As a Scav I try to fill my pack with ground stashes before heading out; really the same as a PMC.

Am I too budget to be effective? Am I hampering myself by being too cheap?

No, you are doing good job by not using 5.45 ammo since early 5.45 is just bad.
Good that u use SKS or other high caliber (mosin/akm/vepr hunter etc.) where early bullets is good enough to kill even pl running with T4/T5 armors.

Paca (since it's only T2) alone is not really a "must have" since it will save you mostly only from scavs if they use shotguns/pistols but if you feel good with it, then it's always good to have Paca than nothing.

Ok but on what you should spend your cash?
If i were you i would go like this
Hideout -> Quests -> Better gear (cause once you reach lvl 10 and unlock flea you will be able to buy a lot of stuff for your hideout or to progress quests).
Why like this?

Well Hideout give you access to a lot of crafting, and that crafting can provide you some extra income. Whats more, if you craft something in your hideout, then this item you crafted will have "Found in Raid" status which is needed if you wanna sell it on Flea Market (also it's needed for many quests).

Why quests second? Cause they give you a lot of experience early on and whats most important unlock better items from NPC.

And why gear last? Cause as you said, you are quite new. Which means your map/game knowledge is not best or even good. Thats why even best gear won't win you fights, thats why it's better to run with worse gear, learn maps, get experience like "where i can meet enemies" "where i can run, where i can't" etc.
Sure, better gear CAN win you some fights, but without map knowledge you will die anyway :P.

Beside all those things which i said, i will give you some extra tips, which you may know, or not.

1. It's not always worth to fight, like if you have some quest done and u wanna end this quest - Just try to leave map.
2. Play scav as much u can, learn new maps with it, or if you don't like playing as scav, since it;'s giving 0 exp for your PMC then just play factory map with it, spend 1-3 min in factory and extract. Free cash for you
3. Abuse Insurance system, which means that if you found other sks on scav, just grab it and hide your SKS somewhere, so even if you die, you have guaranteed that your SKS will come back as insurance later on :). Same with helmets/headphones/armors.
4. Forgot to say it earlier so i will say it here, always carry bigger bag, i know it's a lot of cash compared to "shoulder bag" but it pays off. Finish 1 raid from 4 with bigger backpack filled with loot, congratulations u just earned enough cash for 10-15 such backpacks :).

nah you def want to be more budget effective i always tell people to never buy gear or guns for the first 20 ish levels.  Just the odd scope, comtacs, or small purchases you need for quest/hideout here and there.
The main thing you are saving for is cases and to build up your hideout.  A mil can be gone in a second just by getting resources to trade for something like a food container or the extra parts to make a magazine case or just getting that last piece you need for hideout.

a mil is a good goal for early play but you want to keep saving.  Always try to be cost effective, insure everything and when you kill people toss your gun/rig/backpack and take theirs.  This insures if you die later in the raid you'll atleast (hopefully) get the loot you brought in with you back.

Then later on when you start gearing up and taking kitted weapons you can splurge and really enjoy the game.  Eventually if you play long enough you will get a bitcoin farm and then money will be pointless because you can literally print it

I just picked up the Meds, Pistol, and Junk cases and blew through most of my savings. I'm really kicking myself about a lot of junk I sold at lower levels I had to go back and rebuy to upgrade the hideout and because prices are so good on the flea market. But you only have so much room in the stash.

My PvP is getting better with time and I manage to have more successful runs. Usually on customs I burn the first 5 minutes just waiting for the killing to burn itself out and then go out hunting.
