No matter how much slashing/stabbing is done, I can never kill a person. Even aiming at the head with the weapon doesn't do anything. They need to add hand to hand knife combat like in battlefield 4, if you are in close proximity to someone your character doesn't slash enemies level 6 body armor but instead they struggle for the knife and it is dependant on strength and endurance who wins. If you attack someone from behind with a knife within 0.5 meters you kill them always, if you attack someone from front or sides its the endurance/strength system. No more useless blades, make close quarters more dangerous and make it risky for geared people to just rush each other face to face. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
J.P Posted July 15, 2020 Share Posted July 15, 2020 I know in the early trailers they did show a Melee Takedown from behind a player which was cool, so perhaps they are planning a Melee Rework in the future. However just to add to the topic, I feel for one, you need a sprinting Melee attack, when I've ran out of ammo and i'm down to F All, and my last chance is my Blade and I hear the person about to come up on me I want to be able to use my Agility to try and sprint at him unsuspectingly and try and get that last ditch effort head hit. On top of that, a struggle system as BlooDxHound mentioned would also be interesting, perhaps it could be a combination of Skills and Button mashing to some extent, For example: When attacking from the front, the defender and attacker will get a prompt on the screen to i dunno...spam left click or space, and then based on the persons Strength will determine how easy it would be for a player to fight back, and then perhaps Endurance can also take a part as some kind of stamina drain for how tired the player character would naturally get during the struggle. On top of that then have armour and such play a part depending how heavy and tiring it is to wear will effect the players ability in the struggle, if the attacker wins, he'll get the stab, now if the defender wins he'll either push the blade away and punch/kick the player back, giving him a chance to raise his gun and fire, which i reckon would look really dayum cool and feel pretty toyt on both sides of the fight. Then from the side it would be a debuff on the defenders part, so he would have to spam harder but his characters strength skill may be able to aid him, this angle of attack can also benefit an attacker with low strength/endurance due to the debuff applied to the defenders side and then finally it would effectively be a stealth kill from the back.
