GL40 - OP fix

Im sure many of you have seen Landmarks videos on the GL. A solution to discouraging the noobtube is to destroy all of the gear on the player killed by the GL, or drastically reduce the value of the gear collected by a player who killed the owner with a GL. Im all for realism, but not for this game turning to CoD.

The problem here being, only the players who use most time will be using the item.

By this i dont mean that casual players should be considered. But if you can kill 4 people instantly with a GL, how does that fit the game? Not in a positive way imo.

How is this any different to a well placed VOG?

The GL is a single-shot weapon which you can't spam like grenades. It is easy to miss and takes a long time to decide how far away your target is and to fire. The shells for the GL are also heavy, expensive, and take up a lot of space. Not to mention the fact that the GL itself is already expensive.
It honestly is not OP. They actually balanced it fairly well. For most people just using a VOG would be easier.
