spyafer
I think if player scavs kill scavs they should hunt them down at any means necessary. no one puts up with traitors but they seem like they really don't care. they should spawn raiders or something to hunt down any scavs that betray them, or make the other scavs go into crazy berserk hard mode. It would make it actually risky to kill them and be able to get away with their stuff. It makes no sense that it's so easy to kill them, take their stuff and leave THEIR town and escape so easily without a scratch. I think people who want it the other way just want free loot. it makes no sense.
chrisragnar
If you kill a scav ai they go hostile to you. I think that's enough tbh. Maby make it so they don't tolerate you going too close or aiming at them, but I'm not sure that would change much. I mean I would not mind them spawning raiders, that would definitely make killing other scavs the best way to get gear on scav runs. Why do you even care? Their gear is usually poo anyway and only usefull when you spawn without a pack or decent gun. Edited August 4, 2020 by chrisragnar
ferguswag
Don't imagine they are going to ever spawn raiders in response to a regular scav dieing. Edited August 5, 2020 by ferguswag
h0rse987
Player scavs that kill player scavs should be punished imho. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would like to team up with other player scavs but due to bad previous experiences (distrust, getting killed by player scavs 90% of the time when trying to team up with them) they just shoot on sight now in order to prevent getting killed (If I don't shoot them, they will shoot me). This vicious cycle could be stopped by introducing real punishments, so people think twice before killing another player scav. (Because let's be honest, most of these guys kill every scav including AI right from the spawn for more loot or for a better weapon and have no problems to fight the now aggroed scavs for the rest of the raid => there is no real punishment right now). The new punishment should be made where it hurts the most: loot/money. My suggestion is to remove FIR status for all items gained in a scav run, if friendly scavs got injured or attacked by the player. A logical explanation (storywise) for this could be, that the "complete" extraction of a scav doesn't end after a run, and that the scav (unlike a PMC) inevitably will have to meet other scavs after a raid and will be punished/killed before getting to the flea market (so he can provide it to you after the raid, but won't make it to the flea thus not FIR). The argument of players who don't want to get punished because being a scav includes being "lawless" in a life of scarcity doesn't make sense. All AI scavs on all maps are friendly to each other and now even work in teams when engaging a PMC. Scavs are poorly equipped underdogs that stick together to win against PMCs. This should be encouraged by the game and not seen as a punishment, because it will lead to an increase of trust between player scavs in the long run (forced at the beginning, but after having good experiences it will become just normal). I think everyone agrees that succesful team-ups with random player scavs (almost non existent now) are extremely funny and entertaining and would enrich the game experience very much. I tend to agree with you, but I see scavs as protectors of their homeland too. so I think any killing of scavs should be severely punished. Maybe I went a bit too far with saying spawn raiders, but I think it should not be so easy to kill them, take all their stuff and run away. Maybe a couple regular scavs spawn but they have improved aim and better tactics, so it's much harder to kill them. As for player scavs.. not sure. It would be really cool if we could solo queue and join a raid and whatever player scavs we saw, we knew were on our side. as for now, it's just people being greedy assholes about loot. I try not to kill any I see but sometimes I have to, unfortunately. I think maybe if you kill a player scav you should get +24 hour cooldown to scav run, and a regular scav maybe 6 hours. it's completely against the idea of the scav to just join and kill other scavs. it's brutal and greedy as hell. the scavs are there to protect their homeland, not to steal from it. I would really like to see something happen with this, as for what I don't know yet.

tobiassolem
The SCAVS are locals, they are a mix of civilians (with military training (conscription)) and ex-military who during the lockdown grouped up into gangs "Gain-greedy gunmen would go to any length to have their way, including the murder of civilians and direct confrontation with the two private military companies.". gkcx2002
I'm a new player so take this with a grain of salt. How the hell do you know a scav is a player or ai? Other than watching their movements. If you turn a corner and run into one I'm not waiting to find out the hard way if it was ai or not. Shoot first ask questions later. Also as a beginner the only way I can have a chance of extracting with some loot so I can make some money or maybe get some decent gear is to kill scavs and hope I dont run into a PMC on the way to extract. About 60% of my scav runs end with a geared PMC destroying me. Most of the time I don't even see them. I suspect the last PMC that killed me was exploiting the map and hiding in a tree. If they changed it so you couldn't kill scavs or there was a penalty it would pretty much ruin the game for me right now. If the game wasn't such a meat grinder for new players I would consider the idea but the way it stands leave playing as a scav the way it is.
