So, is anything going to be done about the cartoonish sound design?

Here, I'm mainly talking about how loud footsteps are, how loud your character is, how overpowered Headsets are, IT'S NOT REALISTIC. You guys keep running your mouths about realism but the sound design is shocking. It truly is. Headsets like the ones in game are nowhere near as dramatic as they are in real life, it's pure magic in this game, they wouldn't amplify JUST people like they do in this, it would pick up a lot more PLUS it wouldn't be directional. Headsets ruin this game. There's so many things need need to be worked on...

Side note: FIX GHOST NADES

I don't know about the specific russians headsets here, but usually they are directional. Sounds have issues yes especially for occlusion of voices and certain footsteps you can hear stores away from you like they are next to you.

Cartoon sounds?

While I can agree that there are more than a few sound refinements needed for EFT...

Go play COD, then tell me about cartoonish sound ear rape and overload.

I'm not opposed to things like headsets or thermal scopes or whatever in the game, but only if it's done right. I'm sure all this stuff is being worked on, but it is definitely frustrating. If it's not done right, I'd rather have a more barebones experience with less tech like headsets and thermal.

Yes they are directional irl, there is one microphone on each ear.

They are also enhancing all sounds in game, not just player sounds. I have no clue how you haven't noticed that.

I haven't really thought about if sound levels are exactly like real life. But I'm sure the most unrealistic part is that you can be completely silent. I'm pretty sure you are making alot more noice than you think irl.  I can usually hear someone in a different room, even if they are only slightly moving their arms in very soft clothing. So combatants in heavy boots, stiff cloth, metal parts etc..

I think they should get rid of the completely silent movement, and make more and lowder sounds from walking around and looting etc. So players going about their business will mask someone sneaking, but no one can be completely silent. So stopping now and then too listen would foil anyone sneaking up.

And this from someone who rather move at the slowest speed and hear any enemy's first rather than sprinting and bunny hopping around. Sound needs to make sens from gameplay perspective, realism does not matter much other than it needs a SENS of realism. You won't be able to copy how hearing and sight works in a realistic way.

the stupid part is all the moaning and sounds that your character makes that are not actually made in the game for everyone to hear (if they are close enough). I played so much of this game while thinking I was making a poo ton of noise and being paranoid that everyone could hear me, but like half of those noises don't even apply to the game environment. I wish I could know if the guy i shot 10 bullets in but who just RAN away is hurting or not.

Like when my character is hurt and making a ton of noise in my headphones, how the duck is that not being passed on the game. Unless that was fixed since last time I checked the game.
