How is Ergonomics penalty applied by Armor and Helmets?

Hello guys,

Hope everyone is doing well.
I have a question regarding the Ergonomics penalty from armor please.
Here is my problem:
- When you add a laser to your AK-74 the Ergonomics penalty will be shown as -5.
It means that if my AK 74 has a base Ergo of 50; adding the laser drops Ergo to 45.

- When you look at an armor it will show Ergonomics: -5%.
How is the 5% applied? Is it 5% of 50 which is 2.5 so the real Ergo of my AK 74 will be 47.5?
Or is it something different?
Thank you very much for your help!

I don't know exactly how it works, but if other aspects of the game is to go off of:

Recoil reduction % from skills is based on the receiver of the weapon only, I would wager it would work the same or similar with armor % reductions.

So lets say your base receiver (no mods at all on a gun, not even a pistol grip) has 100 ergonomics. You then use a helmet with a -5%, it would get reduced to 95. Then if you add the -5 laser device, you'd be at 90.

Essentially, skill and armor buffs/debuffs are applied first, then the game applies the attachment buffs/debuffs.

If a developer or BSG crew knows better, please correct me.

I am sorry to be rude.... but if you don't know the answer / reply.... Ask for a dev to reply to the question.

It doesn't quite work like that. I don't have more or freer access to ask developers directly than you do.

As for not knowing the answer but still answering anyway - I thought my knowledge and experience of playing the game for a few years might still be able to answer the question - so I did.

You were very helpful and you never claimed that you were saying the truth. You even asked for a Dev to confirm.
I dont know what is the problem with Grumble_

This page https://forum.escapefromtarkov.com/forum/22-for-developers/ You have the ability. If a dev will reply is another thing.

Based on what I can tell with how movement is penalized, its the % of overall.

Like when using the big ass green armor 6b6a or something you can clearly see the bar go down about the % that is indicated on the armor from speed indicator bar, so I imagine this applies the same towards Ergo as well, so if a weapon had 100 ergo, 25% would be -25 for 75 overall, if a weapon had 50, it would be about -12.5 ish for a 37.5 ergo over all.
