Netcode

There is such a massive delay between issuing commands to the server and player response to the point that I will straight up run around a corner towards a hallway and get about 1/4th of the way down it and still die to the guy back before I turned the corner. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but this game IS competitive in the sense you die you lose all of your loot/quest progress at that raid.. soooo... This should REALLY be a priority to try and optimize this and reduce that delay, it's unacceptable. For the record, I live in Indiana, USA and my ping is anywhere from 25-57ms to the servers I play on so it's not on my end.

If I can get a dev to respond to this, I have a legit question as I am assuming I know the answer is most likely yes (I hope?) that this is actively being looked into and something will be done to fix/optimize net delay?

Otherwise the way I see it in it's current state the game isn't able to be played entirely properly how it was MEANT to be, if I was to take into account this delay, my playstyle would have to change to peekers advantage and waiting for people to walk into my line of sight. Because otherwise I risk dying to net delay for my person being out in the open too long with this delay increases what I consider "Time in the Open" I believe even Pestily mentioned this.

Other than this one honest gripe I have I absolutely LOVE this game, it's simply amazing. I also understand it's still in Beta, but my question is this; "When is net code going to become a focus in development? Are you waiting to finish other areas of the game code before optimizing the net code to reduce problems later? Because that would actually make sense.."

The issue is tied to the FACT that information does not instantly travel between pc and servers and back. This issue is in every game but if you understand how it works you can take advantage. Like peekers advantage.

So a range of latancy will always be present and it will depend on distance to server and the amount of server side information. Generally the more complex and the more players in a match, the worse the problem. BF was bad and Planetside was even worse.

EFT feels like the same as Rainbow 6 so it's probably as good as it's going to get.

Just check this:

And this:

While these are both old it just gives you an idea how bad it used to be.  Basically BSG back in the day completely denied any bad Netcode issues and blamed it on your ISP or your potato 🥔 computer.  Then this came out.  It basically said EFT has the WORSE Netcode ever written.  BSG then took some initiative and worked on it a bit.  It then went from THE WORSE to one of the worse in a big leap forward... LoL

Couple that with the cheapest servers BSG could find and overloading of those and you have the mess we see today, yesterday and tomorrow most likely.
