Game Mechanic: Weapon drop when falling from high elevation.

Hello, I will quickly summarise and explain here what I have in mind.

Concept:
Let's say from the first floor, maybe second? Okay you can still keep your weapon as your legs are able to hold of the weight and the impact (If not overweight). Depending on the weight of your character and height that you would jump from eventually you will need the assistance of your arms to soften the impact. In this case you would either have to put your weapon away or jump with the risk of droping your weapon when you land on the ground.

Summary:
Depending on the weight of your character and the height you jump from you drop your weapon on impact and an animation plays for landing with the assitance of your arms.

Why is it useful?
While it involves more work unfortunately, this would also prevent PVP scenarios where people jump down from high building all morphined up and ready to shoot. This will make people be more careful around elevated positions. Also building dropkilling will not be relevant.

Further ideas:
Could be a skill.
When maxed out could either allow you to jump off the building like in the current state of the game OR play a different animation that keeps the gun and recovers faster. For example a tactical landing roll?

How about we go step further, you PMC ragdolls into the ground when falling high distance and it takes few seconds to recover and get your weapon ready again. :sctroll:

Personally, both of these options would be a good fit for the game in my opinion. While I deeply enjoy the game, I am still waiting for the devs to implement the use of inertia and more realistic movement. Right now, people are literally jumping off buildings to flank others, which from my point of view is unrealistic. Adding something like dropping your weapon, or ragdolling or something similar when jumping/falling from high places would prevent people from exploiting another (hopefully) unintended mechanic. Currently, the devs slightly addressed this by adding more fall damage to the game, but we still have a long way to go.

Well thought out and summarized idea. I think it would work well in EFT.

This would be awesome, it could cause you to fall head first, get a concussion and thus be even more disorientated because of your silly acrobatics. Definitely want this to be implemented as well, but the combination of this and what @Kennedy said would work the best. Theres no reason IMO why you should be able to hold on to your gun if you do some crazy stunts like these.
