Before I start, my specs are :

Processor: Intel Core i5-8500k
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480
Memory: 8GB of ram
OS: Windows 10

Hello everyone, I have some issues with my game that render it completely unplayable. Onto the story.

I entered my first game as a PMC on offline to learn the map. Everything was fine, I entered offline mode on customs, and immediately, my FPS became very slow, and my ping skyrocketed, this lasted about 1 minute. I carried on, and encountered some scavs, a shootout popped off. The shooting increased, I go prone while I was hurt, and my game crashes (first crash).
Same thing happens twice.

I go watch a youtube tutorial on how to fix constant crashing, and the guy goes into

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHPHdHPvT3A

Task manager >
EscapeFromTarkov.exe >
properties >
General >
edit permissions >
checks the square of "full control" >
goes to compatibility >
runs program as administrator.

I do that, and game still crashes, this time I was in a scav raid with my friend, and tarkov kept alt-tabbing to discord. After the third alt tab, discord just closed itself alone, my game froze and then I died because I got kicked out of the server for my lag.

So I decide to go check for alternate solutions, I stumble across this guy on the official EFT forum, that claimed to have provided a fix to this problem. He played
around in his virtual memory limits and it worked for him, so I go into my:

https://forum.escapefromtarkov.com/topic/133732-possible-fix-to-crashesfreezes-and-stuttering/

Settings >
Adjust appearance and performance of windows >
Virtual memory >
Advanced tab >
And then I put 4000mb minium, and 8000mb maximum for my F: folder where my game was.

I also transfered some of the files left in my SSD (C:) to F: where the rest of my game was (my SSD has 55 GB of free space).

Now that my VRAM was changed, and all of my game was in F: (i think), the game wouldn't even open the first time, it just said "failure to launch game". Second time it opened, but my game crashed as I was loading into the offline raid, now I can't even play in a raid so here I am.

Please I beg someone to fix this, I'll reinstall whatever I need to. I've been hyping this game for a year and I finally got it and can't play.

Your ping rocketed?!? in offline? I'm guessing you mean you were having bad stutters? that's normally an online issue though, the stutters used to not be any sort of gamebreaking issue offline?

People do still suffer with some micro lag, it unfortunately is typically made worse by only running 8GB of ram. People have successfully played with in game settings and have the issue almost non existent though, look into fixing EFT stutter.

Now however, your more immediate issue is the game not launching at all, EFT is notoriously problematic if files are just 'moved' around.

If I were you, I'd just start again:

Completely remove any trace of EFT, delete temp files(hit windows key+r then type cleanmgr) and do a reinstall of the game, putting everything where you want it during the install using the installer, don't manually move stuff later.

Change compatibility setting of the EFT launcher .exe AND eft game .exe to run as admin.

Check all drivers and windows itself are upto date, check .netframe is upto date also https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download

launch game without any other program launched, no discord no TS no overlay programs..... nothing. Play with settings in offline to get as smooth and as playable game as possible. Oh and I do mean play around with the settings, there have been numerous past reports of people actually raising various graphical setting combinations to improve FPS and reduce stutter, even with 8GB.

Hello The_Salad_Man,

Maybe your problem lies in your OS. Several players in our embassy experienced similar issues. So here is my questions;

1. Are you getting BSOD. If yes please tell the stop code (eg: VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR)

2. Can you please check the event viewer in your system select windows and system. Please tell the error IDs (eg: Event ID 14)  when the fps drop goes on.

3. Please find all-in-one runtimes from internet and download it. (Visual C++ Redistributable)

All the best,

AllstarCRM

Go into your program file settings and set the max amount of ram available, its usually allocated by the system but this fixed a gamebreaking issue for me where I have more than enough ram but it just wasnt being allocated properly

Hello man, sorry for the very late reply,

I did everthing, and I literally mean EVERYTHING people told me to have done in this thread, and my game still crashed.
I reinstalled it, checked it's cache, spent an hour and a half downloading drivers that I probably didn't even need, and no results.

What I hadn't done just yet, was the event viewer. Now that I did it, here are the results, you are going to find the information before the first error, the first error, the warning and the last error. I will copy paste the entire code blocks so apologies if it's long.

Info 1 before the Error:

Yet again. sorry for having to make you sort through all this garbage, but I did my best and plopped down all of the 6 most recent blocks of info before, during, and after the crash. You can do CTRL + F and write the key word you're looking for to help you navigate faster.

Godspeed soldier, please fix ;_;

Hello, have you managed to fix it?

Im getting  the exactly same crash error "2".

The last thing i've tried was to attempt a clean windows 10 reinstall. Didn't worked either.. im still getting the unityplayer.dll crash. I don't know what else to do. It's driving me nuts.. the crash its always in middle of a raid..sometimes just a minute after entering, sometimes while im heading to extraction, its totally random in terms of time but always during the raid. Sometimes i got 2 or 3 crashes per raid

After trying everything, even a windows 10 clean reinstall that didn't work it, I finally managed to fix it by underclocking my CPU (9700k) from 5.0ghz to 4.7 ghz. Crashes are gone now
