BlooDxHound Posted January 5, 2021 Share Posted January 5, 2021 Anyone who has ever fought scav bosses or raiders will know that they like to one shot you with rifle calibers in the thorax through level 6 and 5 armor every other fight, this is because scav bosses and raiders have a lot higher ammo fragmentation chance than when a PMC shoots that ammo, even on ammo like m61, 7n1, snb, 5.45 igolnik etc. The result, is getting one tapped by basic rifle rounds which do not one shot thorax, through level 5-6 armor rendering it mostly useless against raiders/bosses. I am calling these mechanics 'stealth' mechanics, because although they are in the game and pretty obvious, the developers of the game never confirmed them. Bosses should be difficult to kill, not because they use aimbot and have magical fragmentation powers/can survive getting shot through the brain, but because they should be utilizing movement, ambushing the PMC's whilst moving from cover to cover, repositioning to not get spotted. S5_Mr_Wiggle Posted January 5, 2021 Share Posted January 5, 2021 i would like the bosses to be on par health and gun wise with pmc's if you want to make them hard make them head honchos calling minion after minion to their aid untill they are killed minions can spawn at edge of the map and b line it to bosses location or attackering pmc's location with them fighting anything they come across. but that would require work. I agree but GOOD ai in a game is VERY difficult. The only problem with that would be that groups/good solos would cheese the crap out of this for easy peasy loot. It sounds good at first glance, but I can just see a 5 man draining a boss for 45 minutes getting wave after wave of minions and then killing the boss and taking all of the loot.
