Some aspects of the skill system are flawed

Hi

I'm really enjoying this wipe so far. I've finally got the point (my second wipe) where I feel like I can hold my own in a fight!

One problem I've noticed with the game is the skill system. It encourages stupid, cheesy gameplay and rewards people who have an awful lot of time to do stupid stuff. For example, someone was on Youtube yesterday commenting that to get their vitality skill up for a hideout upgrade they spent a day nading themselves to death over and over again.

Surely the devs need to look at this and consider whether the skills as they work right now are not counterproductive to gameplay.

If I were to suggest something in regards to skills it would be that you get a certain number of points at the beginning of the game to put into skills, like any other RPG. That way you can make hideout upgrades and stuff dependent on skills as a way of stopping min/maxing (people putting all their points into recoil control or whatever). This way you can still cheese the skills if you want to, but you don't need to in order to progress.

Instead of this, in the long term, there could be ways of 'training' skills outside of raids maybe?

This is not about making the game easier, just about cutting out the requirement to cheese.

Agreed. The skill system in its current state is a bad joke. I heard from somewhere that BSG has plans to overhaul the skill system in the near future, so there’s still hope for improvement. 👍🏼
