If you dont want to remove ad ad spam, decrease accuracy drastically whilst ad ad spamming

Just got killed by some retard from 50m away whilst he was walking up an uneven surface, left right left right (roof of k buildings on reserve) and spraying full auto, headshot. Died behind a wall by the way.

That would probably remind me too much of Counterstrike, where you need to stop walking when shooting, otherwise you wont hit a target standing 5 meters in front of you. Oh lord I hate counterstrike so much....

anyways I guess OP is still right, because no1 can walk that fast and zigzag from left to right and still hit his target.

The thing is tho, other "hardcore" shooters do it so that your ads strafing is very slow, to simulate the so called "slicing the pie" effect where you slowly walk around a corner to check all angles. That way you can adjust your aiming point by walking a bit to the left and then a bit to the right, so to say your strafing is correcting small parts of your mouse movement.

Which is one of the main reasons everybody is strafing like crazy in this game, we all do it automatically, because in a firefight ppl move so fast from left to right, that we need to adjust our aim all the time, and that is done by walking from left to right.

I might be the minority here but I personally try to avoid spam strafing when shooting. I do this because there IS a noticeable sway if you are ADS when strafing and causes your reticle to snap off target to the opposite side. It causes you to have to re adjust your reticle on the player. 

However when I am very close to a player I will spam strafe and point fire out of habit. 

What I do is strafe one way only (whichever way towards closest cover) that way when I am ADS firing, the reticle does not snap to the other side like it does when you strafe spam. 

Although you are a harder target to hit when you adad spam, you sacrifice a ton of accuracy and rely on that "lucky" headshot. I prefer to strafe in one direction so I can put more accurate shots down range and not rely on adad spam because I eliminate the target fast.

Well the upcoming inertia patch will get rid of ad spam but with monitors adding virtual iron sides (which is just cheating) we need to counter that too by disturbing the aiming while firing. SCUM does a great job with that, also making use of a "rifle skill" that rules time of aiming, reloading and bullet spread while hip firing. The game deserves its criticism but the gunplay is mostly fine imho.
