New Monitor - 1440p Ultrawide or not

Hi folks,

since I finally exchanged my old GTX 970 for a newer 6800 xt I was wondering whether I should buy a Ultrawide monitor or just a regular one.

The basic specs I´m looking for are IPS panel, 144hz, freesync and 1440p resolution.

I wonder if naybody has experience with ultrawide displays and if they´re worth the extra money or if I should stick with a normal 2560x1440 panel

Never mind your monitor, please tell us how and where you managed to snag 6800XT!? Its either out of stock everywhere or you need to remorgage your house.

No problem in Germany, many in stock. Here we have prepayment option where you order something and wait with the payment up to 2 weeks if you want or if you´re not sure if you really want it. I preordered and said "if the price goes up significantly I´ll get it (for the old price"). 1 week after I ordered the price went from 1099€ to 1250€, so I said duck it. For fps games ive always went for the 1080p but atleast 144 hertz

Ive got an ultrawide and I love it.

I use a 2560x1440 monitor to play EFT and it works fine. I have two other monitors also at 1920x1080 that I use for Discord and other stuff.
