Spawn randomness, how to trick, or why waiting for players takes ages.

Hi.

It appeared to me that "waiting for players" phase was longer and longer. In fact, i just sorted to find why. Spawns are not random, they are listed for who access the game per order.

On some maps, the more quickly you connect and load the game, the farest the spawn you get.

If you install your game on a SSD, or NVME, you will be first to load for sure. If you install it on HDD, you will load loot slower, and finish into a better spawn, as now, everyone starts together. But there is more, if you find a way to flood your HDD or SSD with read/write data while loading, you will take more time to load loot, and then enter the game with a better spawn (on interchange for exemple). Any software like disks benchmark do the trick, like multiple CrystalDiskMark for exemple.

It shows how stupid this system is, spawn have to be placed in random order. This thing is largely known and add stupid amount of time waiting for game to start to everyone just because some use another way to trick the game again. Hope this thread will help devs to sort it out, for the good of everyone.

U sure about this mechanism? I never heared such thing before, only assumed someone played with old PC. Also I got pretty good spawn loc sometime the best, and im sure my PC can beat 3 out 4.

I did small test, like 30-40 games. And it was very, very consistent, so yes. I will not do any more test, as it's making other players entering the game slowly, and that's a nightmare for everyone. Devs will be able to test themselves and see if they can reproduce it constitently.

You are just frankly wrong here.

Running

10900k CPU

64 GB 3200 Mhz DDR4 Ram

2080ti GPU

and have the game installed on a Samsung 980 M.2 which is significantly faster than your standard SSD.

My spawns are different every single time I load a raid. Sometimes I get a good spawn. Sometimes I get a bad spawn. If you were right I would only get bad spawns. I highly doubt there are very many players that have a better or equal set up to me.

You should not base how someone is wrong or not only on your own experience. I ran multiple test and it was very consistent. I also checked forums and i'm not the first to think it's working like that, i also know people are already taking advantage oF it.

I have nothing to achieve here saying it's true or not, only the devs can check, not me, and not you (you still can run tests to add your point). You can have the best rig you wan't, of course it will depend on what time you play, how many other players are playing, what server you are on, if someone is using it at it's advantage or not, the average rigs of other players vs yours, the map you are playing. You just have a common NVME SSD, the rest of your config is irrelevant here as we are talking about disk usage.

You can check multiple other reddit posts like this :

Maybe we are wrong, devs will know and do what is needed, or people will use it at their advantage if it's true, spreading the info is for the best. As i tested it and got consistent result, i think it's still good for the game to explain to devs how i did it and how to reproduce it.
