PooperMcPoop
Its been at least a year since headsets have been reliable, how can the devs not fix such a simple issue. I should be able to hear a guy walking literally 10 feet next to me. unbelievable
Sir_Mossy
If only someone was able to provide actual video evidence of silent footsteps, maybe I'd believe them. For real though, I've never once had a situation where footsteps have been silent EVER. The time where I felt that they were, I used Shadowplay to record the incident and noticed that there were, in fact, footsteps and I just didn't hear them over the other noises. To my knowledge, I have never seen one person make a post about silent footsteps and actually providing video evidence to support the claim, and I'm betting it's because they aren't actually silent footsteps. To sum it up, just use your ears. It's very easy to miss footsteps when there are other noises (distant gunshots/grenades, rustling bushes, reloading, etc.) that can cover them up.
JohnBlink
Headsets have always worked for me not sure what's wrong with your game. Maybe you have an audio driver error or your IRL headset can't play the sounds the game is outputting.

EFT has always had issues with directional audio, from sounds being to loud/quiet when they shouldn't, to sounds not being played where they should be, to sounds not playing at all. Silent footsteps are an issue and have become more prominent after the half arse implementation of steam audio(binaural audio). While binaural audio done some good, it also fucked somethings, like audio feedback on stairs. Dorms building stairs, Factory office stairs, Reserve Black/White pawn stairs, Reserve Black bishop stairs, Shoreline resort East/West wing stairs, and a couple more buildings staircases will either not play footstep audio or will provide inaccurate audio. I’ve mad many, many situations where teammates running back to me can only be heard when they are literally right next to me. Had it been an enemy then I would’ve been toast. Stairs are a particular catalyst for the silent footsteps issue, but it’s not limited to them. Next time it happens, I’ll be sure to pm you a video link to show you just one example of how bad the audio in this game is.
Obsydea
Headset? What's that? Altyn.... Only headset needed. Can hear just fine. Of course if I put on comtac 2's with how loud my sound is, I'd likely go deaf. So.... Yeah.
TUALMASOK
Silent footsteps I can deal with, the invisible scavs on Woods yesterday were a different matter.
Nutcracker87
Game sounds are the issue not the headsets with or without, sounds in certain situations are not played at all.

Actually that is not fair, its always rather dismal.
