How to use mumble?

Since the update y stopped working to mumble and no matter what i do pressing it only leads to gestures

pres and hold Y then click on "commands" and there is mumble just click on text you want to say but commands work only when you play as PMC

They should change this, it feels slow and not intuitive right now:
When you press Y, the char should say a random phrase like it did before
When you hold Y, the Menu should pop up WITHOUT forcing your character to stop any movement. Why shouldnt I be able to speak and move at the same time?
