So I was wondering if EFT was going to give us a modding platform?

Such as a way for us to mod textures, guns, or even add new content into the game. Kinda like how Insurgency allows Texture / sound mods.

just wondering - chris

They said they might have a steam workshop set up maybe after 1 year of game release. So at this point, I would say, its unlikely.

Will the game allow adding player mods, player quests, raids, etc?

For the most part, no, since it is an online game. However, we favor the idea of letting players add their own items, as long as they pass our check and get approved.

Will the game support Steam Workshop and player modifications?

Maybe. Workshop mods will be properly evaluated by us to be accepted and introduced into the game. Mods that alter gameplay will not be allowed, since the game is online-based.

From the FAQ.

I dont think this question can be answered at the moment just because many things can change in the developing process.. I wouldnt trust the FAQ sections either. Only time will tell OP.

Why wouldn't you trust the FAQ? It is updated regularly and has been made by the developers. It is fully trust worthy at the point in time.

500 posts isn't anything. Trust me.

I am having trouble finding out what mods go with what weapon.  I'm also having trouble finding mods for particular weapons for example the AK74U (the short AK). The longer AK has plenty of mods I've found, but the short one is still a big question mark. So far I've found what I believe to be a silencer, but its description is something about a grenade launcher.  When you "inspect" a weapon or item, there's a 'weapon compatibility' line that never changes regardless of the item or weapon I'm looking at. Should that tell me what weapon the mod goes to or which weapon platform it's compatible with?  Ideally, I'd like to find a website (or a way) to go to a said weapon and see all of it's possible configuration options.

@Flyin_Preacher  Here is the post you are looking for.

On the topic of game mods and not weapon modification.. I hope the Devs stick to what they said in the FAQ. It would be cool if well made player mods could make it into the game. AT the same time I don't want to see 100 pages of steam workshop content that are just ridiculous.

Totally against developers just sitting back and allowing the community to make the game for them while they collect all the money.  I think that is a terrible idea.  Look what happened to ARK or DayZ etc. Still in alpha mode.  If you're gonna hope, let's hope that the developer(s) of this game are smarter than that.
