Turn Head Mechanic

Are there any plans to add a mechanic which allows you to turn your head while running? That way you can check your sides without rotating and having to strafe.

Thanks,

Sure, but if that's the case, then they should also implement random tripping. After all, when you sprint and look in completely different direction it's easy to trip over some rock or tree root or some bricks. And then they should make it so you take damage or even die from broken neck - after all human's neck is weakest for "rotation" force (it's way easier to break it with rotation than with for example bending), so if you look behind you and trip and hit concrete then gg.

I will say it again - it's ain't PUBG, DayZ or you other casual shooter where you can look around in 3rd person mode with 360 degree field of view and godlike powers to look behind corner.

If you sprint, you should be completely focused on that, so you don't trip over and see where you are going (look for cover, route etc.). No skilled operator would sprint with looking around. Well, no sane person would do that.

And if you are stationary, then you want to have your gun on point with your eyes. After all, if you look somewhere it's probably because you expect some kind of threat there. And if you really need to check several angles, then either you can rotate your whole body, or you can realise that you are doing it wrong and find yourself better position.

PUBG sure, but DayZ might be a lot of things, but a casual shooter it is not. Especially the mod.

And just allowing a person to turn their head 180 degrees so they can look right, center and left doesn't mean it gives you anything close to what a 3rd person mode would.

ARMA 3 is honestly probably more hardcore than EFT is going to end up being at the end of it all, especially with the realism mods like ACE3 and being locked into first person, they still allow you to turn your head realistically.

I really don't see any reason why we should not be able to turn our heads and see at least directly left and directly right in the manner that the ARMA series has allowed.

We should be able to turn our "head" ~80° left/right. Right now to have peripheral vision we are forced to run/walk side ways. It's fckin ridiculous :/

In my opinion "ArmA" is "doing it right", devs should implement the same system to EFT.

K4MP3R and TechoverMana are quite right with this one, and as a longtime ArmA series player I´m always a tad disappointed not being able to rotate my head around like in the ArmA series .

As to the tripping when head turned : peripheral vision on trained humans is beastly ... group-sportsmen like soccerplayers, footballers, b-ballers, icehockeplayers, etc  and soldiers as well have fields of vision (direct and peripheral vields of vision combined) of up to 180 degrees or even more (!!!) so they can easily gauge the condition of the ground their feet are going to take with the next few steps .

With the above being stated, it´s still possible for humans to dangerously trip and fall so some kind of middleground between turning head and danger of tripping would be really beneficial for the game and adding yet another layer of realism to this hilariously good game .

Stay safe,

swivel your heads well .
