Nesquikk 1 Posted January 23, 2018 ESCAPE FROM TARKOV WIPED EVERYTHING OFF MY D DRIVE I just bought this bloody game about 5 minutes ago. As I download the launcher, I set the installation destination onto my D drive. As the game started downloading, space started to free up on my D drive. After a couple of minutes, over 100GB of files HAD BEEN DELETED. I paused the launcher, but my D drive has been almost completely wiped. WHAT DO I DO? Maki_Nishikino 908 Posted January 23, 2018 It's a known issue unfortunately. You installed it to "D:/" and not "D:/EscapeFromTarkov".

Anatoly_MD 2,697 Posted January 23, 2018 Search for file recovery programms on google, maybe you have a chance to recover some of them... And try to not create new files on wiped disk, it may difficult the recovery. And notice, it may take a loooong time (in my case i formatted wrong partition and it was about 10hours and i recovered only a part of files and some of them were corrupted). kawan333 0 Posted February 23, 2020 Can confirm, this just happened to me
HACKTHEPLANET 0 Posted February 24, 2020 This seems like a dangerous bug to me. A warning to the user that the destination folder will be wiped OR always suffixing "/Tarkov" on whatever the user chooses as a destination makes a lot of sense.
Mufflebuns 0 Posted March 29, 2020 This "game" just wiped my harddrive too. Lousy developers. Be careful with this thing.............
Tsuchinoko 0 Posted June 25, 2020 (edited) A "known bug" is something like a connection issue, this is a f*cking dumpster fire, how can they know this exists and not put up a warning. This 3 year old game with this 2 year old problem and it's devs just took 2TB of photos, text logs, and video games and f*cking incinerated it in the blink of an eye. F*cking POS developers need to focus on the glaring problems with their disaster of a launcher. Edited June 25, 2020 by Tsuchinoko
