I know there has been a lot of people saying that BSG shouldn't listen to users as much but I think we as a community have a lot to offer and as someone that's been playing since very early alpha I decided to start making a list of issues and annoyances that I hit daily and decided that posting them here for feedback, improvements and possible adoption would be a good way to hopefully put a positive spin on the whole community spirit . Most of these ideas were quickly thrown up and could be improved but I'm sure you guys could assist with this.

If any one wants me to flesh these ideas out more or are confused with anything produced let me know and I will expand on these more. I have A LOT more of these for other aspects of the game so if this is something you guy's find useful let me know and I will get more added!

Quality of life changes

. Fix the UI for different screen sizes to better fit the player’s resolution and aspect ratio. The difference this makes when looting and navigating the traders/global inventory is huge.

. Adjust the way scopes work with FOV users shouldn't need to play at 70 FOV for scopes like the Elcan or PSO to take up the majority of the screen.

. Add a trader tab button to the global inventory to stop users needing to go back and forward between the traders and inventory option.

. Give the ability for users to turn over quest from the tasks tab when in global inventory instead of directly going to the traders.

. Add a custom loadout slot that would allow users to create load outs that can then be saved and using one button can buy and quip all items from this list. The game should always look in the inventory first before purchasing to stop the users wasting money. This option has a lot of expansion and is something I am more than happy to flesh out more if this is something other people like.

. Add an side by side comparison option for attachment when modding a rifle. It is useful to see the stat block changes when looking at say two grips but this means currently opening two windows and moving them around to be able to see them both.

. Currently any weapon mods or mags can’t be added to guns when stored in bags or containers similar to how money couldn’t be seen by traders when in wallets and money cases until 8.0.

. Add the ability to rename containers such as Icase and Wcase as later one when you have multiple it gets hard keeping on top of what’s in each box.

. Ability to colour code or add icons to containers to quickly see what is stored in each container.

. Add the ability to add zones to the global inventory so that CTRL-clicking will move items of a specific type to that zone. For instance, if you have a white section any meds that you control click will be added to the white area if there is no space in this area it will fall back to empty spaces in the inventory, This could be even set so that meds you move for instance would fill empty med cases.

. When repairing armour or helmets with multiple components there should be a full repair option so that the item hasn't got to be stripped to small parts then repaired.

. Add an option to start the game with FPS 1 or FPS 2 already on so it hasn't got to be turned on.

. Add the option to turn in Quest items even if you don't have the full amount. This will greatly help reduce inventory clutter and allow you to keep more space for loot.

. Option to make items with a trade or quest icon so that you can quickly identify what is junk or what is needed. this should be fully user controlled as people may place different priorities on items.

. When viewing the maps tab when not in raid no spawns or extracts are shown this should be changed to reflect the view seen when picking a spawn in the raid menu screen.

. Selecting the Insure all option currently also looks inside your Gama, Alpha or Beta container and insures all items in here which can greatly increase cost but also makes no sense as all items in here are already safe.

. Allow searching of bags inside other bags without needing to drop the bags on the floor and then searching them.

. If you have space in your Gama, Alpha or Beta container you should be able to pick up loot directly into your container. (due to user feedback this option seems like it could cause more issues with hatchlings being able to get more loot with less risk and as such this should not be added.)

. In certain scenarios money or ammo wont group when they are picked up in raids this needs to be changed so they always stack (I assume this is a bug)

. When loading into a map that you have active quests on you should be shown a brief description of this. For instance, if I Ice cream cones quest and I load into Woods I should be informed this map has is key to the quest. This should only include quests that have the map set specifically and not be shown if it says any map OR conversely it could show on any map.

Just a few simple ones for me:

- Ideally, inside trader screens have two boxes one for buy and one for sell on one screen
--- If not that at least when you open the trader and you control-click an item auto switch to sell tab. 

- Allow people to page through onscreen tabs with keyboard  - Maybe Q and E

- Standardize button location and link related ones. Sometimes accept is in the bottom center, sometimes it's in the bottom right, and other times it's in the top right.
--- Also allow for those to be selected through the keyboard - maybe Esc for back/no and Space for yes/accept
--- Why is fill at the bottom of the page and why is accept trade at the top? 1) first things first, the first action should come first in the stack but 2) why are they across the screen from each other?

- Allow people to item swap in inventory. Why do i need to put down an item before I can pick up another? Super annoying especially with 2 1x1 items. 

- On trader screens on the player side add a tab so we can toggle between whats on my character and whats in my stash, extra brutal right now with slow page rendering when you want to sell something but you forgot to take it off your character. 

Prob much more but I cant think of them off the top of my head. Love the game but they seriously need to hire a real UX designer.

this would make the hatchet issue worse IMO

Yeah, this is another great one it's super annoying to have to open the wallet and then stack the money in even if it's of the same type. 

 

Thanks for participating in the discussion man. People seem to be a lot less receptive to this than I thought. I'm not sure if its because its a wall of text or what but I have a lot of ideas Id like to raise/discuss and as they aren't bugs I'm not sure the best way to get this over to the devs.

I am thinking of combing all of the ideas from this post if it generates enough and getting over to the devs on mass if possible so thank you for the contribution!

I see no reason for the Fill button on traders screen, i mean, if you have the roubles/$/Euro to purchase it then you should only click buy imo

 

I like most the ideas you've posted, the one with instant to secure gamma being the excluded one, for the same reason as maniacshogun

Yeah I think after seeing the concern this is something we should change. I don't evet do hatchet runs so not something i've encountered but I know there have been times where I haven't taken a bag an stumbled upon an ammo case for example and not had room for it in anything buy my container.
