Do we need better mouse over tooltips?

Hi guys , first post and im completely new to the game. I picked this up a few days ago and tbh i am loving it. The learning curb is just what i have been looking for in a PVP shooter. I picked up a copy of this for a friend as well. After a match he made the comment " they need to add mouse over tool tips that tell me what gun this mag goes with and what bullets the mag will hold". My answer was , well...its in the game. You just have to inspect it and read. He totally disagrees with me saying that " its to hard to figure out". I on the other hand like the way it is. Yes it was a little hard to figure out at first. But i got the hang of it. So what do you guys think? Should more detailed mouse over tool tips be added in? Or are you happy with things the way they are? On a side note he also said " no one can like it this way. Its just to much of a pain to figure out for anyone to like it". Just a little extra bit of info on his mindset towards it. Thanks for reading and sorry for the wall of text lol.

First of all, hello in the community!

And yes.. your buddy is right! There should be an infotext for the important infos like:

For EXAMPLE an magazine:

~6L23~

Fits in: ak74N

Type of ammo: 7.62x39

This makes everything easier for new and casual players. I hate it to read all the text again and again, just because i dont play the game 24hours. But BSG will make it with every patch harder and harder..believe me i can smell that  we need in 6 Month craft Shells by ourselfs, and go Mining for Scrapmetal, just to produce the bullet. Its a pain in the butt.

Sry for my bad english

thanks for the input. I feel his pain but i think that a lot of his issue with the game is that he is use to playing games like Battlefield , CoD , Halo , GoW and so on. Once he gets use to the way this game runs i think he will enjoy it more. He gets killed a lot and he is not use to that. They guy is a beast at most shooters including Battle royal games. So its humbling him lol.  But as i said he will get the hang of it in due time. Thanks for the welcome by the way.

At the start I wondered a bit about it, but it was nice that they say what type of ammo goes in what gun that was put in this patch, but I feel like its a remembering game for some things like, you could put all that info on the mags but when he goes to buy bullets he will need to review each bullet personally to find out which bullet would be best suited for the mode of game he wants.

It's the pain of going in against armor players with simple sports hunting rounds and understanding that you need to decide what bullet is best. It's also the same for the magazines. Do you want to buy the cheaper ones that is heavier and cause you have already used them? Or are you going to look et every magazine you can buy to find out that some increase ergonomics more and are lightweight for movement.

only way to find out all this is by looking at every item.

its the same way with learning to mod a gun. There's no set mode to mod your own gun and if you want the best possible modded gun then you need to look through all the traders and find out what items they sell and what they are used in with the benefits they give you.

I'm saying that if you want anything you can buy it simply and get the same over and over or you can put in a little effort and learn how you can give yourself a slight advantage.

the learning curve will be greater if its really easy for beginners and then for it to be steep wondering why not every mod every bullet and part is named exactly where it needs to go. At this stage your just being guided and when the guiding stops you'll either be lost or work it out on your own

guns, their ammo types and related clips become second nature the more you play. When viewing a gun, the ammo type is visible on the thumbnail.. you quickly become familiar with the 545 and 762 rounds and clips as they have specific looks. You will see in time.

I think its perfectly fine the way it is, i hate when games do this mouse over info windows, it makes it hard to navigate the inventory when the info windows are constantly popping up and it also gets annoying after a while because you already know all the info and you dont need it popping up every time you go over with a mouse.

Let me see only what i want to see,  dont stick things i dont care about in my face. You see all the info you want when you doubleclick the item

Thanks for all the input guys. I should also have said that he plays A LOT of MMORPG's. Well mainly WoW so he is ues to tooltips ontop of tooltips to explain his tooltips lol. During his rant about the subject he made the comment " no one can like this the way it is. Not even the most hardcore of gamer/gun nut can like this." My reply was  " if people did not like it then it would not sell "  But again thanks for the replies so for guys. I was really curious as to what the split would be like on this subject.

I think that the weapon break downs and mod explanations are a bit lacking within the inspect part. While I think it needs to be changed sooner or later, it's def not a priority. It would be a nice quality of life change and would def help alot of new players.

i agree and he and i talked about that a few hours ago. I told him i think it would be cool for new people. But i would hope that they would focus on things like optimization and other performance boosting aspects of the game. I see them adding things like better mouse over tooltips in the later end of the beta. Maybe before full retail release.

Ya the more they streamline getting your gear together in the menu, the more time we have to play in game. But for right now the system is ok.
