SCAV Porpuse in the game

So i was wondering whats the purpose of scavs in the game, and i am talking about scav AI not scav players.

is their supposed to big obstacles like they seem to be right now with their sometimes terminator like aim. that one shot you. if that is their purpose then maybe it might be worth rethinking that.

getting killed by a scav is not fun. getting killed by another player in a cool firefight is way more fun. their purpose should not be to kill you, but to drain your resources, in terms of time (reloading filling mags), ammo, health and stealth. they do this right now but also with the goal of killing your as fast a possible. a simple change that would help is change their aim from "go for the head" to aim center mass. maybe always "miss" the first shot so you have time to react, you can argue about that.. they often to blurt out something before they shoot you which is a great mechanic.

if the scav bosses and their possy get added they sure can be harder.

imho it would be better if scavs facilitate more player interaction in terms of PVP. they should and fire at you which draws players towards the noise and they then interact with each other, which makes nice gameplay (if the netcode and desync don't prevent it).

but right now scavs feel strange to me. sometimes their are deadlier than players and  imho this game should be more about the PVP than PVE. the scavs should held bring players together by making noise and draining your resources but if they kill you too fast the only interaction other players have with you is looting your body.

 

though ? opinions on that ?

is there a statement from BSG about this ? i would be interested in what their idea about scavs is

Basically target practice NPCs or another means for players to get loot/rare loot like keys for example . They are also meant to be a threat to players whether it's significant or not . While the game should focus on PvP rather than PvE but the Scavs are optional and sometimes could shift the tide of battle whether it's significant or not so they play a random factor in the game .

IMHO AI Scavs are gangs securing/guarding certain areas, like exits and other points of interest, so PMC's couldn't move as freely around the map, nor easily camping exits. They should be as tough as players are. Sometime you meet noob one, sometime you die under skilled shooter. Its fine by me and i like it.

Basically in my opinion there free loot. :) 

Also the games in beta so there likely to change, re-change and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on, and full game release.

This is like the 16,000 post I've seen about scav's there's always the search option (top of the forum page), which will direct you to the other posts where the info you need is.

They are there because it is a PVPVE game. With scav bosses and cultists added (and with IA refining) it will become harder

Are you the game designer of this game? Who are you to tell that?

I would like to see AI Scavs to be a tactical problem for progressed (geared, skilled) PMC - They can reveal your location, hurt etc. And a barrier to hatchlings (no more sprint free looting resort, factory office).

Atm 1 out of 20 scavs act like a player with wallhack and aimbot.
