xmode
I'm going to take you on a trip through one of my raids that ended with me being exit camped and killed. Before I begin you have to understand I'm not great at this game. I have clawed my way up to 27% survival rating and I'm so very used to getting killed in the dumbest way possible. The raid started on customs. I usually try and start on the "Customs" side rather than the boiler tank side because I tend to survive for more than 10 seconds doing it this way (fix boiler spawns etc etc). Starting behind the garages I enter through a hole in the back of one of the garages and almost immediately I could hear movement. I'd had a late spawn and once I stepped out of the garage I saw there was already an AI scav patrolling. A quick couple of SKS shots to the back of the head and he was down. I took my time to make sure he had no friends and my shooting hadn't attracted some PMCs and when I was sure it was safe I went over and looted his shotgun and some ammo. Moving slowly forward through the garages toward the large red warehouse I encountered no one and eventually found myself at the wall for the warehouse. Because I have the customs key I decided to take the opportunity to loot the safe. There were no scavs in sight and he had been very quite, so I made my first mistake and ran up the stares to the office and quickly unlocked the door. Unfortunately for me I wasn't the first person there and rather than unlock the door I pulled the door open. As the door flung open I panicked and unloaded the rest of the SKS mag in to the entrance while simultaneously stepping aside. The PMC inside started to fire with his AK but only got 2 or 3 rounds off before he dropped to the floor dead (checking after the raid reveled I got a lucky head shot). He did however manage to hit me in my right leg and blacked it out. Bleeding i limped inside, shot the door, bandaged and begun looting his stuff. Now with someone else's AK and ammo in hand, I popped one of the 2 painkillers I always take with me in to a raid and started on the long journey to the exit. I met no resistance outside the warehouse and moved around the train so I could cross land bridge. As I was low on meds and the PMC I had killed had no additional meds I was mostly walking with small burst sprints to stop additional injury. I made it to the land bridge and decided to just run. As I made it to the other end a scav spied me and yelled. I opened up with the AK mostly missing but I managed to eventually control the spray and took him down as he fired. The shotgun was at range and somehow missed my head, leaving me with only minor carry over damage from the already blacked out leg. I stopped and used the rest of my meds to heal up while I could. Moving up the hill I saw a few dead bodies. I was not the first here and clearly whoever had been here was having a better time than me. I moved slowly around the back of the garages, through the bushes and to the back of the warehouse. Checking the bag for meds I found nothing so I slowly moved on. As I approached construction my painkillers wore off just as another scav spotted me. I raised my gun and pulled the trigger and *click* I had forgotten to reload.. I quickly pulled out the SKS just as the scav fired, and somehow missed me completely. He was rewarded with a shot through the head (after I missed twice). I popped my last painkiller and found a place I could reload. After the panic at construction I continued on and found no more resistance. I took the shortcut as some kind soul had already opened it for me (although I had the key) and I moved across the open ground between warehouses again. I decided not to try my luck at the old gas station as multiple scavs were likely to really mess me up, plus I was running late and it was likely gone anyway. I was going to try and exit through ZB-1012 as I had been having luck with that exit. As I got close however I knew it wasn't going to be open this time. The gate was already open and the light was off. I tried anyway, but no suck luck. I was going to have to try for the main exit. Moving around the back of the warehouse I spied a scav on the road. He hadn't spotted me so I fired and dropped him with 2 shots. it looked like my luck was finally starting to turn. I moved in and carefully checked the road. No one was there so I took the time to search the body for meds. I found an AI-2 and moved on. As I worked my way back down the wall I saw movement too late. All I heard was yelling and then BLAM, a shotgun shot. With one hit my arm was blacked out and the jolt cause my first shot to miss. BLAM a second shot came in and hit my chest with my armor absorbing most of it. I fired back taking him out, but now I was bleeding, I had a blacked out leg and arm and I knew I didn't have long. I ran for the back of the factories. I didn't have time to worry about the damage from the leg, I needed to get out before I bleed out. Using the AI-2 to counteract the damage from running I made it to within visual distance of the exit before my last painkiller ran out. Limping, bleeding and my vision slowing going I saw the gate to the exit was still closed. I was almost out. This was the most number of scav kills I had managed in a quite a few raids and it looked like I was going to make it. I limped to the gate and opened it. Then I heard it. A movement in the bushes. A scav yelled out at me and BLAM. I was down. At the gate to the exit, on a raid I almost couldn't believe, an AI scav had exit camped me and won. Exit camping AI is the worst. 1
Wurfy
First of all, was that entire essay necessary to get the point across? Secondly just check the area around the exit before you go in. If you get exit camped by a player then yeah, he's an asshole and I hate him but if it's a scav, you have no right to complain. Scavs don't hide, you'd have found him if you'd checked. mabarian
Dude, once in a PMC raid in Customs, after killing like 10 or 11 scavs and 3 PMCs, I had to hobble while bleeding from injuries from the New Gas Station (the one thext to the 2 buildings in the woods that divides a road in two) to ZB-1012. Creepiest moments ever: hobbing, grunting, panting, red vision, bleeding out, dehydrating AF, I couldn't even aim if I had to. Luckily, I did not encounter anyone, but when I arrived to ZB-1012, it did not extract. That was like "cmon what the duck!!!"I had to go to Far Factory Corner. I swear i finish the raid 6 or 7 seconds before the end the match and with like 15-20 of health and totally dehydrated. I won 14K exp point and leveled up from level 4 to 9 or 10 or so. Amazing. Those minutes hobbing trough the boiler roads, not even hidding as it would have been pointless... priceless. Ah, the thrill...
MrSolo
Just clear the area before going into it like any other area on the map.
