Hey, i stumbled upon a thread by the dev or "crew member", necuja which was posted November 10th, 2017. In which he said, and I quote:

"Hello Escapers,

Have you been hungering for a way to do some more tactical stuff? Have you wanted a way to escape a losing battle easier? Or have you just wanted to blind someone while you come up and wreck them!?

Well today is the day we announce something that will help make it all come true! Below I introduce the RDG-2B smoke grenade. This little puppy, along with other grenades, will be coming to a scav near you, soon™."

Along with this he posted the photo below. I was wondering if anyone caught wind of how progress on the addition of smoke grenades is coming. Also what're your thoughts on the smokes? I feel as though they would be tremendous addition and open endless amounts of doors as to the opportunities they provide in combat.

don't quote me on this, but there was a large amount of time where grenades were bugged and didn't leave the hand when thrown, or killed everything on a map at once. I'm pretty sure these got shelved then

You're absolutely Right. These Bugs were present on all of the grenades Back in the early stages of 0.7 which got a lot of users killed Involuntary. I do imagine that the problem with smokes grenades is the Physics of them and how many particles are going to be present when they are released.

Managing to compress the particles will take a crap tonne of time to Figure out and Implement. Not to mention that if a bug were to occur with the smoke grenades, then the amount of RAM it could possibly leak may potential Kill a Server.
