Leveling & Experience

OK, so I can't seem to figure out if your PMC character level effects anything. I understand how the individual skill leveling works (Vitality, Strength, etc.) and I understand that trader relations are increased at certain PMC level milestones, but I'm wondering, besides for the aforementioned, what's the difference between a lvl 01 player and a lvl 15 player?

there is none, it's litterally just an obstacle to encourage people to keep playing and gain levels

it also shows how much time someone has put in the game.

A higher level tends to be more experienced and has access to better gear and tends to have better skills too (health / endurance / recoil control etc.

His dogtag is also worth more.

so there is an function but it is not tied to the skillset of an character.
